Chapter Text

“Of your pregnancy.”

Grian stared at Sausage trying to determine if he was joking or not. He blinked, opened his mouth then closed it again. He finally tilted his head towards the side in confusion before saying, “Excuse me?”

Sausage stared at the bewildered man and slowly repeated himself, “Of your pregnancy. You're like what two months along?”

“Back up dude,” Grian said, putting his arms up defensively. “There is no way in the nether I am pregnant. I haven’t done the deed since double life and that was months ago. Plus I’ve only been on servers that have player breeding turned off!”

At this point Cub had come over and joined them, “What’s this about player breeding?”

Sausage pointed at Grian and asked, “Has there been anything different about him since he’s done the deed last?”

Cub blinked and shook his head, “Besides the bond breaking nothing really. He’s been sick over it and he’s had these weird heats.”

Grian pointed at Cub and nearly shouted, “See!” before quieting down so only the other two omegas could hear him, “Not pregnant.”

Cub’s jaw nearly dropped before he looked over to Sausage and nearly screamed, “You think he’s pregnant?”

Cub’s near scream drew the attention of Keralis and Bdubs. They both looked at the trio drunkenly and then at each other. The trio in question were frozen in their spots waiting for the inevitable reaction. They didn’t get one as soon after Bdubs ended up causing a crime scene and many of the omegas started calling for a alcohol cut off.

“We’re talking about this later right amigos?” Sausage questioned quietly to the other two, earning one hesitant nod and another eager nod. “Good.”

Luckily the alcohol was cut off, though Cub snuck in another shot, and bedtime came and went. Morning soon arose causing much complaint in the church over hangovers and early birds. Grian snickered as he watched his pack groan and moan over the early hour and the head pains it brought. The conversation he had with Sausage and Cub gone from his mind in the early morning haze.

Cub stretched from the other side of the room, luckily he had a high tolerance for alcohol, made eye contact with the possible parent and raised an eyebrow. Sausage saw the gesture and made a motion to him. The two turned to him and he gestured that they could go to his place to talk. The two nodded then began to help with the cleanup.

Sausage and Cub were quick to leave to get in better clothes than PJs as Bdubs had thrown up on their next day ones. Kathrine and Jimmy were the next ones needing to check in on their empires or to go see potential mates. Keralis was next after finally waking up enough to walk straight, and Bdubs arose soon after him to go take a shower. Oli was last to wake up and left immediately to go check on his egg.

“I saw that look Sausage and Cub gave you,” Gem said as she and Grian were folding up blankets. “You go meet up with them over whatever gossip session their planning and your dreading.”

“Is it really that obvious?” Grian chuckled.

Gem raised an eyebrow and calmly threatened, “You go or I set Apollo on your butt.”

“I’m going! I’m going!”

Gem chuckled as she watched her older brother figure fly off in fear of her bear. She loved scaring people.

Grian kept looking behind him in fear of the bear as he flew to a certain omegas base. He was not looking forward to this conversation he was about to have.

Sausage was quick to usher Grian inside when he saw him arrive.  Cub was already sitting in the foyer with a cup of tea in his hands. Sausage shoved one into Grian’s as he sat down.

“So. Grian being pregnant.” Cub stated blandly.

“It doesn’t make sense though!” Grian exclaimed. “I haven’t had sex since Double Life, and it had the same settings as Hermitcraft!”

“Double Life?” Sausage said curiously. “That’s where Jimmy, Joel, and Scott disappeared to a while back, right?”

“It’s non consensual,” Cub added. “All Grian gets when it happens is a little bit of the time-“

“I’ve tried to nudge it around and such but it doesn’t work as well oftentimes.” Grian interrupted.

“The players participating,” Cub continued. “The twist and the rules.”

“And it has the same settings as Hermitcraft right?” Sausage asked, twisting his hands in his lap at the new knowledge.

“It should,” Grian confirmed.

“The things that orchestrate the games,” Cub started hesitantly.  “Could they change the settings?”

Grian rolled his eyes, “We’re seriously not suggesting I’m pregnant right?”

“Could they change the settings?” Cub repeated, more urgently this time.

Sausage caught on to what Cub was saying and choked on his tea causing the two omegas to look up at him. He waved them off.

“I don’t think so?” Grian said hesitantly. “Settings can’t really be changed in game can they?”

“Ima call Keralis over.” Cub stated standing up.

“What why?” Grian stood up, knocking his tea over.

“That’s smart,” Sausage murmured in agreement, getting up as well to get a towel. “We probably should have included him in the conversation from the start.”

“Why?” Grian questioned loudly as he assisted with the clean up.

Cub had stepped out at this point and Sausage was the only one in the room. Instead of getting the towel the sudden parent walked over to Grian and grabbed his hands. “Your pack omega can help with this more than we can. He knows the code and he can help with the code. Not only that but he can probably provide more information then we can.”

Grian started shaking with nerves, his communicator vibrating with messages, and was quickly pulled into an embrace by Sausage. “If they can mess with the code, what else could they do?” He whispered.

“Is everything ok in here sweet faces,” a concerned Papa K asked. He must have rushed over as soon as Cub had called. The caller in question stood right behind him, arms folded. Sometimes it was hard to believe he was an omega and not a beta or alpha.

“What’s the possibility of Player breeding being turned on mid play time on a server?” Sausage asked calmly, ripping the bandaid off. Grian shook even more at the possibility. He thought they could only watch. He didn’t think they could mess with the coding after making the game. They promised it would be like Hermitcraft.

Keralis looked to his shaking pack mate and looked to the other two omegas in the room. Each one was staring at him, one with anxiety, one with worry, and one with frustration. Cub was still as ever focused on the situation at hand, while Sausage wanted the answers in order to help the shaky omega in his arms. Grian didn’t know what he wanted to hear.

He shakily said, “It depends. On some servers like 2b2t it’s permanently turned off with a code lock. It can’t be changed. I know that some servers like the Dream SMP have it turned off at the beginning and that would make it hard to turn it on but not impossible. Hermitcraft turns it off after the creation, making it really easy to turn on and off.”

Grian whispered quietly enough that only Sausage could hear, “It didn’t have a code lock.”

“Your son has returned!” Joel yelled into the house as the front door slammed open. All four omegas jumped and turned towards the door. Joel stared at them all, Hermes pulling on his Thunder Daddy’s hair while sitting on his shoulders. “Bad timing?”

Unbeknownst to all but Sausage, Hermes had asked, “Is parrot man ok?”

Sausage's eyes widened and quickly moved to set down Grian on his chair. “Parrot man’s ok mi hijo,” he said to his son as he rushed over. Joel quickly took him off his shoulders to give to Hermes’s other father. Sausage lightly pused Hermes back to Joel saying, “I actually need you two to do me a favor. I need you to find Sheriff Jimmy and get him to give you some yellow terracotta ok?”

Luckily Joel understood the hint and swung Hermes back up onto his shoulders. “Aye aye captain think we can do that Hermes?”

Hermes threw his arms up in a form of a cheer that Sausage could hear in his head, and pointed out towards the door. Soon both boys were gone and the three omegas sighed in relief of no little ears. Grian on the other hand had his head in his hands chanting the same seven words Sausage had earlier.

“Brian could you speak up please?” Keralis asked as he heard the repeated mumbling.

“It didn’t have a code lock,” Sausage told them. “That’s what he’s saying.”

After hearing the words come from someone else’s mouth solidified it even more for Grian. His shaking intensified with sobs as his heart raced and his breathing intensified. Dim in the back of his brain he could feel the worry and concern coming from Scar. Dots danced in his eyes and soon they closed, oblivious to the worry around him. Little known to Grian’s ears, the worries intensified as he passed out.
