Actor au (100 masks but I haven't found One That Fit's)

Summary:

(Fic will be added upon if I feel like it, finally getting back into writing).
Ren always had a hard time watching the movies or even seeing clips from things he's acted in. It wasn't that he hated how he looked by any means- by all standards he was objectively attractive! But his face is always the thing that bothered him... He always looked off whenever he even saw his own reflection, like his face wasn't his own. Like he was wearing the mask of someone else, though that did lend to his acting career.
"Ren Amamiya the rising star with a 100 faces!"
He always felt like a fraud of himself.
Maybe a near mugging is how you meet people your age, at the very least it's better than work.

Work Text:

He isn't sure what made him trust the two teens that seemed the same age as him, maybe it was the fact the blonde two acted like they recognized him as a friend from school just as Ren was about to cut through a darker looking alleyway to dodge a group of fans, only to realize moments later as he's pulled away that they had saved him from a mugging when two men stepped out of the dark alleyway with weapons. Maybe it was how they had hurriedly dragged Ren into the train station below them to lose the muggers, or how they offered him a mask so fans didn't recognize him while the one of them gave him their jacket and messed up his hair.

"I told you Ryuji, an extra mask always comes in handy." One of them told the other as she made sure Ren's hair went over his face, while the other- Ryuji, wrapped Ren up in a school jacket that matched his and the girls own.

"Yeah yeah, less talking more moving! We can't let those assholes catch up to us, they looked pissed."

Ren looks between the two, more confused than before now, why were they helping him? Did they want a favor out of it? {"No,"} Ren reasons to himself.
{"They wouldn't have acted like that around muggers if they were fans... Unless this was a set up?-"}

His train of though is cut short when he feels a small burst of pain on his forehead, making him focus back on reality as Ryuji meets his eyes.
"You can run right?"

"Wha-"
"Listen, we can't carry ya if you can't, so you better be able to bolt if any trouble is near when we get off on the next stop."

Ren didn't know how to respond as before he knows it, they are moving out of the train and he is following the two once more, playing catch up as they look around, seemingly watching for the muggers they had nearly came into contact with prior. Everything was going so fast it made his head spin as he was dragged out from the train station and out into a small neighborhood then into a café that was in it's own alleyway. By the time he was able to sit down, his legs burned with ache that he had only felt from hours of shooting for movies and shows he played in.

{"Oh Shit."}

Sitting up his brain races with how he was supposed to explain this to his body guards who he ditched in some dumb attempt at get a snack he probably could've gotten some delivery service to bring to him- never mind how he was going to explain this to his parents! His lungs start to burn not just from all the running he just did but now from a rising panic at how much trouble he is going to be in. When he calls his family to come pick him up they'll find his outfit messed up and that he was nearly mugged and take it as a reason to give him more guards than he already has and-

He feels the tapping soft paws on his lap, looking down he sees a tuxedo cat walking in circles on his lap before laying down.

"Mona- Shit, sorry man, he doesn't really understand boundaries." Ryuji sighs deeply, embarrassed as he makes a move to move the feline, only for it to swat at him with a hiss.
"Mona you brat... Are you okay with him being in your lap? He's pretty friendly."

"Y-yes, he's fine. I like cats."
The nervous smile on Ren's face did very little to assure the blonde standing in front of him that he was in fact, fine. After a moment Ren started to feel his breathing steady as he tries to match the highs and lows of Morgana's chest, he tries to focus on the feline and calm himself down before calling his parents to come pick him up...

Hopefully they answer this time.
