Chapter Text
The first time 2A saw something odd with Bakugou's calls, it was Ashido Mina who had spotted it. She was texting in the class group chat about what to watch for group movie night, one of the many things they'd implemented after the war, when, suddenly, Blasty made his way into the kitchen while holding up his phone and talking to someone on the other end.
Bakugou being on a call, in general, was odd since he always said they were "a shitty waste of time". In fact, the one time Kaminari called him, Bakugou said: "if you're gonna talk to me, do it in person shitface." and promptly hung up seconds after. They, obviously, respected this wish of his and concluded that it was a result of his hearing aids; something about "distorted hearing, feedback, and interference," Iida had said when he proposed this conclusion. It makes sense overall.
Ashido, of course, noticed the peculiar situation and looked around, searching for anyone to also notice this out-of-character behavior. Unfortunately for her, there was no one else in the room, so she decided to lean towards Bakugou silently in an attempt to listen to the conversation.
"What the hell 're yer talking 'bout? I told youse' that I have some' better to do." Bakubae yelled into the phone, picking up and seemingly cutting up an apple.
Ashido's eyes widened. What was he talking about? And to whom?? Not to mention that god awful accent, where is that even from??? Yet to get any answers, she decided that, instead of interrupting in a wave of confusion, she would just continue listening; maybe even hear the other person.
"C'mon Kats! 's not like you have some' to study 'or. And 's the las' thing she can 'ost caus' o'.. y'know.. 'ight?" A crackly voice, with an even heavier accent (seriously, where are they from??), came from the other line Kats? Who calls him Kats??. The person (man?) spoke in a low voice, like he was in a public setting or trying to keep whatever he was saying a secret.
After a short while of pure silence (classic Blasty), Bakugou huffed, which was apparently enough for the guy as he cheered through the phone before hanging up. Ashido, realizing that crouching below the chair closest to the kitchen wasn't the best spot to be found in, she duck-walked to the couch. Much to no surprise, though, after sitting on the couch, she didn't see Bakubabe, meaning that she couldn't ask him any questions about who that was.
.
.
"What if it's a villain?!" Denki exclaimed. He, along with 16 other students (-Bakubae, Midoriya, and Mina herself), had just been told about the unexpected occurrence Mina had seen. They were sitting in the common room, exactly next to the kitchen where it had happened.
"Don't be ridiculous, Kaminari! There's no way Bakugou would be involved with those people!" Iida asserted to the group.
"I don't know! This just doesn't seem like Bakubro! And that accent that you described," Kirishima huffed in disbelief before continuing, "I haven't like ever heard him speak like that!"
"Wait.. Mina, you said that after Bakugou sighed or whatever, the person on the other line cheered, right?" Uraraka asked, continuing after receiving a nod from Mina, "Doesn't that mean he's going.. Wait, has he gone yet?!!!" She proclaimed while the class was, admittedly, still in shock. The entirety of 2A got up in search of Bakugou and after almost 10 minutes of searching his dorm and around the 2A building, they had found a small note on his dorm's door stating "Gonna be gone extras; tell 'Zawa - Bakugou" that left the entire class embarrassed.
After handing the note to Aizawa, they had found out that the note was irrelevant. Apparently, Bakubabe also decided to tell Aizawa that he was leaving for the day.
Ashido sighed, laying like a starfish in her dorm room. Who the hell could Blasty possibly be friends with? Surely not someone that bad! Maybe we'll get more information later, for now the case of Blasty's weird calls remains open.
