Work Text:
A yell.
Ocean blue darting eyes
A scream.
Feet moving like the river bank, fast and furious.
Blurry, panicked movements.
A cape flying out behind the scars of a broken boy
Wild got too attached again.
He explored for too long.
And he got someone hurt.
Movements, pounding against the grass, squishing it, pushing deeper into the mud beneath.
Breaths, quick, panicked, pained.
A commotion
Another one of his crazy explosions
But this time mental
And cutting like a knife.
He screwed up.
He blew it.
And now he’ll run like the stallions in his Hyrule
To escape it.
He hurt them too deeply
He’s hurt too deeply.
Run, run, run.
Run faster wolf boy
Betray your pack
And run into the woods
To never come back.
Nobody loves you
Your too much of handful
Your too broken
To ever be loved by anyone again
You blew your chance with the girl you loved
And now you’ll forever pay for it
You’ll forever be haunted by it
Run, run, run.
Dance with the ground.
Feel your cape fly off you.
Your naked
With your scars to see
The world won’t accept you.
But nature will.
So you run
Deep,
Deep into the thickness of the branches
Because you think they’ll shield you
They won’t.
You can’t run forever
Your problems will catch up
And you’ll die
like you should have 100 years ago.
You are nothing
But a wild card
And a boy gone wrong
So run,
Past the silent princesses,
Past the shadows,
And past the stars.
Because you can’t go back
And you never even considered
That they want you back
That you fit in their puzzle
And leave them lifeless without.
Boy, you need to think.
You were put here with a purpose.
Yet you run from the people who love you
You are not a soldier on a blood covered battleground
You are a sheep running away from your pack.
You are blind.
Blinder then the beings who look into the fire for peace
They love you
And you need them.
And a part of you realizes that
Because as the familiar wolf chases you down
And pounces on your chest
You do not fight when you are finally pinned
For you know that they need you
And that you need them.
