This time, Ganon struck 3 days after Link found the Master Sword—at just 12 years old.
The Guardians were corrupted by Malice, the Divine Beasts and their brave Champions fell. So the Age of Burning Fields began while a dead hero lay entombed in the Shrine of Resurrection for a hundred years. Meanwhile, across time, previous Heroes are gathering. “I’m in a time loop,” Link calmly and quietly starts. Not calmly Twilight realizes, Link’s mind recoils at the mere mention of it. However, some part of him is so innately exhausted that it’s numb at the concept. “Upon either my own death or Gannon's I return in time. Over time the curse has strengthened, making the time loops more and more unhinged. The circumstances of my awakening are different every time, but are rarely fortunate. No one’s been able to so much as notice the curse, but I think it’s safe to say it’s evolved to carry a very potent curse of misfortune. There’s more to the curse, but it’s powerful and inconsistent enough it’s hard to pin down with a simple name.”
“A time loop? Like the Hero of Time?” Twilight asks, stunned. It explains Link’s vague words earlier and the aged sense to his mind. It must be far more than just taxing on the mind. No wonder he was so distraught earlier. He’s been -

It’s been a year since they left Wild.
It’s been six years and four months since Wild had last seen his brothers. Wild had counted the days, tallying them on the tree next to his house, until his life is flipped upside down when his adventure started. Time seemed to slow down and speed up, days turning into nights as he worked to find Flora, but never did the back of his mind leave the topic of his brothers… and now that he has them back, he makes no means to ever let them get hurt again.
(Or: Wild gets double cursed and doesn’t tell anyone. Nobody is happy about this)

On his lap sat Wild, who with watery eyes, stared pleadingly up towards Time.
"What is it, little one?" He bounced his leg a little, smiling when Wild laughed behind his hands.
"Bored." He mumbled petulantly, his eyebrows creasing slightly.
"Are you now?" Time huffed in endearment. It wasn't very often that Wild asked for something.
Twilight's ears perked up.
"I… I know something we can do." Twilight said, his face a deep crimson. Both looked over at the boy in surprise. "Um… If you want to, I-I mean." He began kneading his fingers on his lap.
Wild looked up again at Time, this time expectantly. "Okay." The boy's voice was barely over a whisper, hidden behind the sleeve he began to chew.

Summary
After waking up, Link learns a lot from the monsters on the plateau. Way more than he learned from Rhoam. When he finally leaves, the Hylians are scared of him; his scars, the way he moves, how he speaks in grunts and growls instead of words. Impa helps him learn enough Hylian to get by. He doesn’t dislike hylians… at first. As he remembers the abuse from his time as a knight, his opinion sours. He still frees the divine beasts, reclaims his sword, helps people, but every interaction with Hylians feels forced. It’s not comfortable, unlike his interactions with the monsters. Sure, he kills a lot of malice-mad monsters, but he spends as much time as possible hanging out in the sane monster camps.
Link defeats Ganon, frees Zelda, and escorts her to Kakariko... but then he leaves. The Sheikah can protect her. He’s not the Hylian Champion anymore, he’s the Mythos Champion: the Hero of Monsters.

With the Master Sword once again rejecting him, Link spends some time in he Korok forest. He came all the way, and the little one’s always seemed to like it when he visited so, what was the harm?
It never occurred to him that maybe it wasn’t the Master Sword he was destined to wield.
Deep in the forest within a forgotten temple, a sword of sleeping power awoke. It’s call heard by a new hero, to wield against evil once more.

While already dealing with a faulty Sheikah Slate that’s been using him as a powerhouse since the Sheikah Towers sunk back into the earth, Link has been waking up in a trance-like state in the middle of the night.
A tugging sensation pulls him to the West of Hyrule, prompting him to discover what greater purpose lies beyond his completed heroics. Here, a voice tells him to ‘join them’… but who?
