Summary
After four long years, Kafka returns to Penacony for work. The first night back at her old apartment, she finds her previous, long forgotten phone. Although the phone was from years ago, the texts Himeko sent were not.
“Himeko has been texting me good morning and good night for,” Kafka paused to scroll through the messages and continued, “a really long time.”
“What the hell?” Silver Wolf sounded disgusted, as if she was offended on Kafka’s behalf. “Why? Is she a creep or something?”
Kafka flipped her camera back and shrugged. “No idea. Any ideas, Blade?”
Blade let out a short sigh. “No. It's weird.”
Silver Wolf smirked and added, “Yeah, it’s weird. But at least we know Kafka’s not the only one missing her ex.”
“Oh, please.” Kafka rolled her eyes. “I don’t miss her.”
“Really?” Silver Wolf scoffed. “Because I’m remembering your dating history since you and Himeko broke up, and I’m seeing a lot of red.”
Or, Kafka and Himeko are exes, and their friends are trying to get them back together.
