The red sail shuddered in the wind, it stood out among the world of deep dark blue before it. Defiantly going against it. Like the red sail, the girl on the boat rejected this world too. Choosing to sail above the ocean world instead of sinking beneath the waves like many things before her.
She allowed the winds to take her where it wanted. Drifting from island to island, sea stack to sea stack and whatever remnant of mankind had survived the Deep Blue’s attack.
The surface world was one of peacefulness and possibility for her. She could go anywhere within this blue expanse. However; the world beneath it. The Deep Blue was a world of fear for her. On a fair few occasions she would be forced to explore that world. Her scuba gear, a sign of necessary connection she had to make with it.
The Deep Blue, unlike the world above itself, was all encompassing, crushing and drawing attention to anything within it. Many times she would be within the Deep Blue and have a feeling of being watched. Never quite sure if it was one of the many inhabitants or the place itself watching her with its controlling gaze.
The girl thought about that while looking at her supplies of food. Soon to be depleted, she was faced with the fact that she would have to soon enter the Deep Blue again. Her scuba gear hugged her skin tightly. A slight comfort she had within all this. She looked at the dark black water that called her into action. And sunk into its deep depths to survive.
