Chapter Text

sorry for bad English!

You have 12 years old and you are just moving to a new city called "Faraway" because of your parents' work, you know it's not a big city like others
But it brought a slight sadness on your face. New school...New people...Why you had to move out? You're leaving all your friends..Not because you want...but you still feel a pang in your chest like its your fault..You look out the car's window listening to the song and wondering if it will be better or worse here.. Suddenly your mom spoke to you making you take off your headphones.

"So, honey, are you happy about the move?"

She asks you with a smile on her face and you don't want to make her sad like you are now, so you answer positively

"Oh, yeah.."

You give her a fake smile but you don't feel very happy about it

"Oh, I know moving will change a lot but we had to, we had no choice"

She says with a worried voice knowing you're giving her a fake smile.

"Yeah..I know"

You have her an answer and you put your headphones back, then continue looking out the window when your mom turns back sighing

Finally you to your new home and you take off your headphones then put them in your backpack with your phone. You look at the house you will now live in. It is nice... It does not look old or ugly, it is the most normal house. You knew that your parents were often away from home because if that stupid work.. You would often be at home alone and you didn't like the fact that you wouldn't spend time with them like you used to..Maybe they can call to a caretaker?
You enter the house, carrying boxes which you will soon open and put the things in the house.

"Hmm..The inside of the house doesn't look bad... I expected dust but I didn't even find it here"

You talk with you in your mind and commenting on other features of the house, but the most you want to go upstairs and see your room but the room probably looks like others, not something WOW. Before you even set foot on the stairs, your dad calls you over to help him with the boxes.

"I'm coming now"

You call out to him and quickly go downstairs, taking another box that you almost fall under yourself

"Eh...how...heavy.."

You answer in your mind but you manage to force the box into the house with and breath tired, It's not for your strenght..

"What's in there? Seriously, they gave me a box like this..?"

Finally all the boxes were in the house and you start unpacking, sometimes you look out the window, wanting to go out and see the whole area but you have to wait...

Finally! It took a long time but everything is unpacked! and in your room too! For now you have a bed, a desk and some of your own books that you like to read, after all, how could you leave anything there? You notice that it's getting dark and you go downstairs to talk to your parents, after all, they start they new work tomorrow...You won't even say goodbye to them because they're going early... Saturday and they have to work? Tragedy...

"Hey!"

You called out and sent them a smile and they smiled back so you took a seat in the middle next to them. Your dad ruffled your hair when you responded with laughter.

"So, sweetheart, are you ready for tomorrow? Maybe you'll make some friends?"

He asked, hoping for your positive answer.

"Oh! Yes! That's what I hope...I'm so stressed...Me and my socialization isn't that good.."

Actually you don't even know how you made friends...

Then you hear your mother responds to your answer

"You don't always have to start the conversation, it can always be someone else, and judging by your character, someone definitely will like you!"

Mom gives you a suggestive look, like always, the kind that you'll find "The Love of Your Life"

"Mom!"

"Oh calm down! I'm just joking and you're already sitting here with a red face, haha!"

She smiles when you laugh slightly, actually that's true... You look like a tomato now.

"Well, okay, okay!"

Your dad gives you a piece of paper, you look at it and he says

"You'll do these chores tomorrow, they won't take you long, we'll give you money on the shelf so you can buy or make yourself something to eat, okay?"

You nod, answering "Yes", but you'll miss them a little when they're gone for days, so you hug them and they hug you back. They immediately understood what you meant and your mom started talking.

"Oh, we'd like to stay home too, but we'll have the whole Sunday off, okay? We'll all spend it together"

You nod again, hugging them tighter.

"I love you.."

"We love you too, honey"

They responded at the same time and you stopped hugging them, well the hug was a bit long.

"Now you need to go wash up so you can have lots of energy tomorrow and meet lots of new people!"

Your dad says with a sparkles in his eyes

"Alright!"

You quickly run upstairs, grabbing your clothes and items to wash yourself, go into the bathroom and notice the shower instead of bathtub...

"Oh! My last house had a bathtub so I was always watching something on my phone...And now it's clearly not going to be like that..."

You sigh with this information and go to wash yourself.
After an hour you come out of the bathroom in your pajamas and with wet hair. Suddenly you hear your dad's voice in your direction

"You did it so quickly? It usually took you two or three hours"

"There is no bathtub..."

Then they both laughed at you

"Haha...Very funny..."

Answering them in your thoughts, you went to the room before shouting goodnight to them. You fall on the bed and feel that you will fall sleep soon like never before, so you close your eyes and immediately fall asleep, wondering how your day gonna be like

You wake up, yawning and stretch in the bed

"So it's a new day...?"

You ask yourself rubbing your eyes from the tiredness, thinking about how today will go, will you meet anyone new? You go downstairs and notice that your parents are already in the work, wellz you're alone.

"Oh, so I won't even see them leave and can't say bye to them...Ehh.."

You sigh and take the piece of paper that your parents left, It's about things you have to do today before you go outside

"Hmm.. Maybe I'll do them later? I'll definitely make it in the end of day!"

You put the note back on the desk and take the money which they left for you to buy something to eat. And you leave, you immediately feels a terrible hot..

"What a hot day.."

You think, but ignore it and leave home, locking the door behind you and hiding the keys in your pocket just like you did with the money

"So where first?"

You think when after a while you answer in your head again

"Let's go where the wind takes me, even though there's no wind today"

And you went straight bypassing other houses and turning to the right where you can see a park and children playing in from a distance. You walk to sit in the park but suddenly you feel someone's touch on your arm. You turn around and notice a boy with short, shoulder-length brown hair, he looks about your age, he's wearing green t-shirt and orange shorts.

"Hey! Are you new here? I haven't seen you here before!"

He asks you with a smile and takes his hand from your arm, you wonder what he wants? Maybe he's gonna be your first friend?

"Oh! Yeah, I've been here since yesterday, actually I just went out today because I want to get to know the city, hehe... I'm (Name)"

"Im Kel! If you want I can always show you the city around, hehe!"

"Hmm.. Actually, it might be useful to me since he's know the city more than me anyway.."

You think until you finally speak

"Sure! Actually It's gonna be really helpful"

Then you feel a touch on your hand, he has obviously grabbed your hand to show you around the area, he is really fast and you can't really keep up with him

"Mari and the others will be happy that I'm bringing a new person to the group!"

Suddenly he stops and you catch your breath

"Of course if you want!"

He looks at you but you have no idea what he's talking about

"Can you repeat that, please?"

You asked a little embarrassed because you don't want him to feel ignored by you

"So maybe you'd like to join the group? I think Mari and the others would welcome you with open arms, hehe..."

This is your chance! You will make new friends and in the first day!

"Of course I want!"

you quickly replied excited and with a big smile, your eyes sparkling with excitement

"Ahaha! I'll introduce them to you soon, we still have time before the picnic starts where you'll have the opportunity to meet them all, and now let me show you around"

You nodded and he started running again, you noticed a place that looked really nice... There were trees around and a lake, finally Kel spoke

"There's going to be a picnic here soon! I'll show you around as quick as I can so we can make it in time!"

He responded and simply started dragging you to other places. After leaving the park, he stopped at the vending machines

"Oh! Wait a moment!"

You noticed that he decided to take a break to buy a drink from the vending machine

"Orange Joe?"

"Don't tell me you don't know what is this?!"

Uhh..No..?

You looked away to avoid eye contact, waiting for him to tell you what drink is that

"I can give you a sip!"

He smiles and hands you the can to try, you take it in your hand and then take a sip, but when you feel it in your mouth you know you want to spit it out immediately, it tastes disgusting...but you don't tell him that and you swallow it, now you can say something

"It's...uhm...really good, or is it orange juice mixed with coffee...?"

"Bingo!"

You hand him the drink as he drinks it all really fast, you look at it with disgust but don't show it on your face. When he finishes his drink he starts running again this time without holding your hand so you don't have to hurry, you feel like you're going to fell down but you have to be fast so he won't disappear from your sight

"Running in this heat? It's torture!"

You say it in your mind, feeling the sweat running down your face

"Come on! Faster! With this speed you'll never gonna catch me!"

At this time he also laughed at you, he is really but REALLY energetic..

"Im trying..!"

You answered him loudly so he could hear it because you were a bit far away than him, it's not for your condition

He led you to "othermart" where there was a pizzeria and other shops next to them

"Hmm, those names are weird"

You said to him and he replie"Hmm, those names are weird"

"Right? Hahahaha!"

The last place he took you to was a church where he told you that there was a cemetery behind it, even though you did see the cemetery. Later you went back to the park and sat on the sidewalk instead of the benches or grass...But It didn't bother you or him, at that moment he started talking

"So I showed you the most important places!"

He smiled and he asked something else

"Actually, you changed schools, and you'll be going to the one not far away?"

"Oh, yes!"

"so you will go to school with us! Haha! I'm sure you will like everyone whem you get to know them! Mari, Hero, Basil, Aubrey, Sunny, and me!"

"There are really a lot of you!"

"Haha! Mari and Hero are older than us and Sunny is Mari's brother when Hero is mine"

"I'll definitely gonna remember that!"

You both looked at each other, smiling and listening to the moment of silence, not to mention the kids playing in the background. But you wouldn't say he likes silence, he kept moving and looking around

"All right!"

You got up but Kel as usual ran while you tried to keep up with his steps. You are really stressed about meeting others now. You noticed that the picnic and some people was already there and they were just unpacking the things in a basket sitting on a blanket

"Hey! I wanted to introduce everyone the new person who will be in our group!"

Everyone looked at you as you waved to everyone

"N-Nice to meet you..."

You don't know why you started fidgeting and stuttering a bit, it's probably from stress

"I'm (name)..."

Judging by their gaze, they weren't looking at you upset or anything like that, they just greeted you with a warm smile. The first person who speak to you was a girl with long black hair and the same eyes color as her hair, she was wearing a white dress with a light purple sweater on the dress she looked a bit older than you similar in age to the boy next to her with light brown hair styled in a strange way and dark brown eyes who wears a light blue short-sleeved shirt and long dark blue jeans looks a bit like Kel so he's probably his older brother

"It's really nice to meet you (name), I'm Mari! Would you like to join our picnic?"

she asked nicely

"Yes, If I won't bother you and others"

"Of course not! Come join us! You'll meet all of us!"

You sat next to Kel and you think Mari is a really nice girl but what about others..?

Suddenly a girl about your age with long dark brown hair and dark brown eyes walks up to you, she was wearing a pink t-shirt and a blue skirt, it really suited her! She also had a pink bow on her head, she really likes pink, you said in your mind

"I'm Aubrey, nice to meet a new person in our group, I'm glad to have a new person here! I'm sure we'll get along great!"

"I'm Hero, nice to meet you too!"

A boy of a similar age to Mari spoke up

Of course, you answered them quickly.

"I really think the same! I really thank you for accepting me to the picnic and to the group"

A smile appeared on your face after what you said, when you noticed another person and another boy, blonde hair with blue eyes,
his hair was hard to describe but you really liked it, he had a flower in his hair, he was wearing a green shirt with a collar and blue shorts, he looked shy, you can tell by his voice, you noticed the camera he was holding, he was obviously taking pictures which was his memories

"I-I'm Basil.. I'm really glad you joined us..."

He looked away, still smiling shyly when you replied

"Nice to meet you too Basil!"

And the last person, the boy with short black hair and also black eyes, he looks really similar to Mari maybe its her brother?
You'll probably find out later or ask Kel! He was wearing a black shirt and gray shorts, Mari immediately started talking

"This is Sunny, my little brother, hehe! He's too embarrassed to say anything now, but I'm sure he thinks that its nice to meet you!"

"Nice to meet you too"

You replied with a smile and in your mind you said

"I knew they were siblings, so I don't have to ask about it"

"So maybe we can start the picnic now if everyone is here!"

Kel said as loudly as he could

"Do you have to yell so much?"

Aubrey asked, slightly annoyed that he couldn't speak normally

"Oh god but nothing happened"

Kel rolls his eyes as if nothing had happened and he was the calmest boy in the world

"Kel, we all know you're excited about the picnic, but calm down a bit."

Hero said looking at Kel as he just mumbled something under his nose and everyone started enjoying the picnic, then Mari spoke to you

"(Name), why did you move here exactly?"

Then everyone turned to you, curious about the reason

"Actually, it's because of my parents' work.. They found a job here not far from this city, but they won't be home all days.."

Then Aubrey spoke up

"But you can always spend time with us! no matter what day!

"Right, and besides, you'll be in our class so we'll all be completely unseparated all time!"

When Kel said this everyone was surprised by this information and then Aubrey spoke up again

"Will you be in class with us?"

"Mm...yes.."

Then Basil spoke, you honestly didn't expect him to say anything to you

"It must be really hard for you starting all over again, and starting a new school, but we will always be there for you!"

Basil lifted his gaze from the floor and looked at you when a slight blush appeared on his face

"Basil is right, we will always be here for you if you want to tell us something"

Hero spoke, smiling like the others. You felt a surge of happiness then and a tear fell from your eye, you found friends who will always be with you...Who don't leave you... Then Kel asked

"Did you actually have friends in that town you live before?"

Then Aubrey got up

"Kel! What kind of question is that! It could have hurt her (Name), you don't have to answer if you want, he's just an idiot who doesn't know what he's saying!

"I just asked!"

You noticed Kel and Aubrey starting to argue so you decided to disturb them in that

"I really don't want to disturb, but this question didn't offend me and I can answer it"

Then they both looked at you, Kel with a proud look on his face that Aubrey was complaining about nothing

"Ha! I knew you wouldn't mind!"

"Are you sure, (Name)?"

Mari asked you

"Sure! So I only had two friends but they were always loyal and one of them was really nice and intelligent, she usually helped me with my homework and always want to do meet up, and the other one was like a mother,  she always tried to help us and we could talk to her about anything, but she often had a lot of responsibilities on her head, so we rarely could her"

After saying this Kel spoke first

"They sound great! I'd love to meet them! I'd definitely get along with them, especially the first one!"

"Were they the same age as you?"

Aubrey asked, curious about your friend

"Yes! I was walking to school with them, I miss them.."

Then Basil spoke

"You have no contact with themThen Basil spoke

"Do you have contact with them?"

"I do, but it's not the same..we don't write often"

"Oh, I see.."

"But you've got us!"

Kel said happily

You were comforted by this information, but you would have preferred if your old friends were here too, but after a moment your facial expression changed to a smile. Kel then asked everyone

"Maybe we should play tag?"

"Hmm, good idea"

Basil replied

"Yea, not the worst"

Aubrey replied

"Sunny?"

Basil asked him when he just nods and get up like others

"And you, (name), do you want to play with us?"

Basil asks you, offering his hand to help you stand up. You think for a moment but decide that what's the harm? You love this kind of fun! So you take his hand and stand up saying

"Of course!"

Aubrey then turned to Mari and Hero and before she asked the question about joining. Mari answered

"No need, we'll watch you play"

When she finished speaking, Hero spo"No need, we'll watch you play"

When she finished speaking, Hero spoke

"Yes, we will keep an eye on you so you don't do anything stupid"

So you spent your time playing tag a few times Basil took a picture of you all having fun but somehow he kept playing even though he was often tag for because of the time it took to take the picture...The photos were pretty funny!

And so a lot of time passed until you all landed on the picnic blanket from exhaustion while Mari and Hero laughed lightly at everyone

"Haha! I had so much fun!"

Aubrey laughed, still tired

"It was so tiring but still fun!"

You said also laughing from exhaustion.

When Mari looked at everyone and she started talking

"Maybe you should eat or drink some juice, you're really tired and the basket is still full!"

"Ah, right!"

You all answered at the same time but Sunny as usual the quietest, you wonder why he says so little...You all decided to eat something, the day passed so quickly that the sun started to set so everyone with you started helping to collect things after the picnic. For a while you all walked together until finally some of your friends separated when you were about to go home Aubrey stopped you

"Hey! How about I walk you home? If you don't mind, I'm not in hurry!"

You didn't see a problem with that so you answered without hesitation

"Sure"

You started walking towards your house

"So how's your first day here?"

"Hmm, really cool!"

"Would you like to spend some time with us tomorrow?"

"Oh, tomorrow? I don't know if I can do it, I'd like to spend time with my parents, you know... They won't be at home often..."

"Okay! But if you want you can always come to us!"

You smiled and thanked her, then you noticed that you were already in front of your house

"Thank you for walking me home"

"You're welcome!"

"So I guess this is where we have to say goodbye"

"Hehe, I have to go back now...see you later!"

"Take care!"

You waved at her and took out your keys and opened the door, then you entered and locks them behind you and decided to do your chores

"I wonder if I did those chores and go outside after doing them, I would meet Kel..."

Youu thought and got back to work. It took you a long time but you finally finished it.
Immediately after that you went to wash up and fell on the bed exhausted and then you fell asleep
