Work Text:

Dimly lit candles illuminated the stone corridor, a winding, narrow path. Dancing with each breath of air pushed in its direction from movement. The atmosphere, once inviting and warm, contrasted with being dark and cold. The bright, melancholy colors were replaced with threatening, gloomy shades of red, brown, and black. Highlighted and emphasized by the roaring purple flames behind an empty throne, which washed over every small crevice it could touch.

The beast of deceit had stumbled upon this place from poking around within his spire's altering of time. Surely a little exploration to find out what it had to offer was okay! Oh, how interesting...a clawed hand around the edge of the wall with narrowed eyes. The scene was vastly different from what he had been used to. Frankly, it mocked what his ally, Dark Enchantress Cookie, had as her color palette. Tacky.

Did they not have any other color to liven the place up with instead of this dull spread? Looks like a ruined graveyard if you'd ask him.

Scoffing, Shadow Milk Cookie straightens his stance slightly to step out from hiding. Wand in hand used to catch on the side armrest of the throne, careful not to disrupt the holders beneath, to not ignite anything ablaze.

"It would be funny..."

He muttered to himself, a pushed back smirk at the thought of how Burning Spice Cookie would fan the flame to tempt him to deface it in a speech of how destruction was the key to freedom or whatever the brute was on about. He was right, though; the clown took immense joy in the suffering of others. Seeing them crumble at his fingertips, as they could do nothing but smile and play a careless jig to his pulled strings.

Reminds him of when he had one of Eternal Sugar Cookie's cherubs dance on hot coals or the time when he led unsuspecting cookies to crumble themselves by jumping- well... not jumping per se, more so given a 'little push' in the right direction.

Snorting back a cruel laugh, a little wave of his magic instantly transformed it to something of his reference. Blues and blacks painted over the otherwise gothic scenery from before. Floating backwards, a leg kicked up over another, landing softly on the hard throne chair with a hum of satisfaction at the redecorating.

"Muuuccccchhhhh better!~"

Ego as big as ever, a snap of fingers now summoning the bunny servants to his side, watching as they squirmed about in a bid to tidy and arrange things to their master's liking. Even if it wasn't a long stay, it would certainly prove a point to whoever inhabited this trashy place on what REAL decor was! He would have his two minions here, but he had sent them off to go meddle in spreading deceit in the cookie world for him. Anything to get Candy Apple out of his hair for more than five minutes.

Off in his daydream, the beast had rested his head upon a clutched hand to think about who or what this place belonged to. Surely it wasn't Dark Enchantress, witches, no. She at least had a TINY bit more flair than this!

A slam of a sharply pointed heeled boot jolted him from his mental ramblings, eyes moving with a speed unmatched by the owner of it.

There in all his glory, stood the bloody demon king himself. A twisted mirrored reflection of the once-holy light of truth's holder. Curled horns like a ram's, a cutthroat glare at the intruder below him. "I see someone has made himself a little too comfortable in my domain. Tell me, do you have no shame? Or have you boldly strutted in here to assert authority over your savior in expectation of such foolishness to be given a form of entertainment?"

Shadow Milk frowned, jagged teeth barred at such a brazen mockery towards him. "Oh, please, I know it's you, Pure Vanilla Cookie. You think this presentation could fool me? You need to take better acting lessons. A pity." Huffing, he tilted his head to the side to gesture a free hand out. "While I do enjoy the show, it has gotten rather BORING. Making yourself the star was not in the rule book, I'm the main character here!"

'Pure Vanilla' stood silent with his foot planted firmly on his throne's armrest, grinding into it with impatience as the jester had begun to yap away about how he was rather boresome in his approach. "Acting? You think this is a joke, don't you, my dearest, azurite?"

In a bold move, a hand outstretched itself to hook under Shadow Milk's chin, tilting his head up to meet his gaze. Leaning down ever so sweet, just a breath's hair away, their lips touching. "Someone should really...teach you some manners. Desecrating a home that isn't yours for attention...how pathetic."

The master of deceit froze a lump in his throat as he was guided to the king's eyes. They held...malice? No, not malice, perhaps something more. Something DARING. Every alarm bell went off. A cry for him to push away, to retort, but something was captivating. Never once had he expected the gentle light to be so blunt. It excited him.

Had this been a Pure Vanilla who went down a path of darkness like him? Had this one finally seen how cruel the world was and sought to tear it down like he did? A thumb brushed over his trembling bottom lip with ease, gaining a smirk from the dark ruler. "Now now, quiet yourself, my dear...I can sense how conflicted you are. Come, let me guide you into my embrace so you can be in my arms."

He had gone to speak, a finger pushed against his lips to be silenced by 'Pure Vanilla'. "However...if you so desperately seek my attention, be a good little beast and clean up your mess. I don't have time for your theatrics."
