Work Header

Bad idea!

Summary:

Natalie Scatorccio is wasted. I mean, that isn’t new. What’s new, is being in the passenger seat of Lottie Matthews’s car.

Or

Nat is drunk out of her mind and Lottie is head over heels

At least, that’s what Nats lockscreen read. Honestly, though, she probably couldn’t tell you that herself in this state. The last thing Nat remembers clearly is when she first arrived at.. well, whoever’s place this was. Now, she’s god-knows how many drinks deep, and pretty sick of the stench of this house.

Who even throws a party that runs this late?

Either way, all she can think about is how she’s even gonna get home. She walked here, not to mention the fact she snuck out. If she got caught on her way back through the window—well, she doesn’t wanna think about that now. Truth be told, for the past hour, she’s been scanning looking for anyone she could deem possibly safe enough to get a ride from.

She eventually guided her hand back to her pocket and reached for her phone. After multiple failed attempts at putting in her passcode, she managed to unlock it. Nat fumbled with the device for a few minutes before, begrudgingly, making a decision.

Nat quickly shoved her phone back into her jacket before making her way out the front door. Everything around her was moving so fast, making Nat feel like her consciousness was lagging behind. She was quickly snapped back to reality when she crashed face-first into something.

Fuck—watch where you’re going!” the man standing in front of her spat.

She mumbled a quick ‘sorry’ before she continued stumbling down the hall. She could tell if the hall was actually this long or if she was just too fucked up to think straight. After what seemed like a century, Nat managed to haul herself onto the lawn of what’s-his-face’s house. In a poor attempt to lower herself to the ground, Nat took a rough landing on the grass. She doesn’t know how long she was plucking at grass before—

“Nat!”

Nat shot up like a bullet at the voice. God, that voice. She quickly stabilized herself as Lottie reached her hands out, one grabbing Nat's own, the other hooking under her other arm once she was standing against Lottie's side. Was Lottie always this warm? The sensation almost overpowered the voice still in Nat's ear.

“Christ, you are wasted. I’m not taking you back there, you can spend the night at mine. My parents won’t be back until next week.”

Lottie knew. She always did, no matter how closed off Natalie thought she was.

Nat felt Lottie nudge her into the passenger seat of her car. Natalie squirmed, uncomfortable with the seatbelt—Lottie must have put that on her—against her neck, overwhelmed by everything going on at this point. Lottie noticed and quickly moved to adjust the seat belt, before closing the passenger door and getting in the driver's side.

Nat rubbed her hands up and down her arms in an attempt to warm herself up. She shifted her gaze to Lottie, before taking hold of her arm. Lottie jumped at the contact, before glancing over to Nat. She felt her face heat up, putting her eyes back on the road.

“Do you want the radio on?” Lottie quickly questioned, wanting to make Nat as comfortable as possible in the situation.

“Lottieeee—“ Nat slurred “Did you know you have reallyyy warm hands?”

Lotties grip on the wheel tightened, before she quickly fixed her face, smiling over at Natalie, thrown off by the very off-topic compliment.

“Are they? I never really noticed.”

After a never-ending drive, Lottie pulled into the driveway of the Matthews home. She quickly grabbed the jacket Nat had haphazardly discarded in the backseat at some point during the drive, before rounding to the other side of the dark helping Nat out and up the driveway.

Nat gripped onto Lottie's shoulder, as she leaned against the warmth at any chance she was given. She did as well as she could to make it easier on Lottie, who was attempting to get the two of them up the stairs.

After a few minutes of struggle, Nat felt herself being let go and sprawled out on Lottie's bed. She registered the room around her as much as she could in this state. Suddenly, she jumped when she heard footsteps walk in, which was just Lottie—when did she leave?—with a bottle of water. Lottie helped prop her head up, letting Nat continue to lie down while getting some water in her system.

“Lottie?”

“Yeah?” Her head whipped back towards Nat's voice, her face quickly getting a bit red.

“Can you like— help me get these off?” She grumbled as she struggled to pull off the top she had been wearing. Lottie quickly walked back to the bed and guided Nat's arms out of the tangle of fabric. She tossed the top into her laundry hamper, before walking over to the closet, grabbing something more comfortable, and letting Nat put that on herself.

She noticed Nat struggling to unclasp her bra, and once she was sure Natalie was comfortable, unclamped and removed the piece of clothing, making sure to not disturb Natalie, now half asleep. She eventually removed and properly did away with the piece of clothing.

Nat grabbed Lottie's hand as she passed by to get more water, and tugged her back toward the bed.

“Lottt!” Lottie was slightly stunned at the nickname.

“I’m cold.”

“Which do you want?” Lottie quickly grabbed two blankets.

Natalie sluggishly raised her arm towards Lottie

“You, C’mon.”

Lottie, after getting over the initial shock, slipped her shoes off and made herself comfortable next to Nat. Nat gradually got closer, before she started playing with the others' hair.

“You’re so prettyyy, Lot.” She blurted.

Lottie smiled, unaware if Nat could even see that or not. It didn’t take long for the both of them to entangle themselves together and fall asleep.

If anybody noticed Natalie wearing Lotties favorite shirt the next day, nobody said anything.
