Summary
In the summer before her senior year, the 4th of July lands on the Lord's day and despite having long given up on such a god. Natalie finds herself praying again next to Laura Lee on the cold concrete curb at the end of the Taylor Family's two-story colonial. Feet planted in the gutter. Smelling the vodka on her own breath as she whispers revelations into the hot summer night. She prays like there's only a single bullet in the barrel, and she's trying to punch through the fabric of heaven itself.

I wanted to write a really gay tragic explanation for why Natalie is so separated from literally all the girls at the beginning of season one. This is a tragedy disguised as a buddy comedy disguised as Nat getting passed around like a blunt.

Summary
Natalie never expected to die a hero. She expected to die alone, coked out in the back of some shitty van, a victim to herself and her fucking impulses. Or, she expected to die in fear, victim to a hunt or a sacrifice to some stupid Wilderness God she doesn’t believe in. So, in some ways, maybe this is a plus:
Yay me, I guess. At least they can put ‘she tried’ on my gravestone.
But this doesn’t feel like a victory. All it feels like is cold. A cold, lonely death, buried in the snow and completely, entirely alone. A useless death. A death that no one will remember.
This is how she dies - not with a bang, but with a whimper.
And then she wakes up.
OR: Natalie never makes it to the mountain. A sudden blizzard claims her first. But when she opens her eyes, she's back to the day of the crash. This time, she’s determined to keep everyone alive - even if The Wilderness has other plans.

“Do you want to get out of here?”
She sees Nat in her peripheral vision, floating in the pool beside her, her face normally covered with hair floating out around her head, eyes normally clouded with eyeliner that she hasn’t bothered to put on for her audience of Lottie and Lottie alone. She smiles at Lottie, the way she does when they’re alone, the way that Lottie loves, but would never point out for fear that Nat’ll stop doing it if she does. That look in her eyes, in the curve of her lips, the tenderness, the raw affection.
“Whatever you want, Lot. I’ll be there.”
.lottie's parents skip her high school graduation. her and nat go on a road trip to get away from it. seven days of just nat, lottie, and the road. they come back from the road trip, but their emotional journey has only just begun.

It's obvious: Jackie knows about Jeff, and she fucking HATES Shauna.
