Morning must be the worst part of the day if you ask Regulus. Especially during exam period, when Regulus has more studying time than sleeping time.
But if you ask James, morning is the best part of the day, because it’s the moment when Regulus is the more grumpy and looks more like their cat. And don’t tell Regulus he said it, but grumpy morning Regulus is adorable.
That’s why James is currently making coffee for his boyfriend, while the said boyfriend is slowly waking up. That’s why when James is entering the room with a cup of coffee for Regulus he finds his boyfriend cuddling their cat grumbling about the sun waking him up.
“Hello Reggie,” he says, kissing his boyfriend’s forehead “I have your coffee here. Please tell me you didn’t wake up during the night to study…”
“I didn’t wake up during the night to study.” Regulus mumble, not wanting to get out of the cover, feeling way too comfy to move, even for his coffee. Well, maybe not even for his coffee. “And now try telling the truth.” James chuckles as Regulus takes the mug out of his hands. “Firstly, you have no proof and secondly technically it wasn’t the night anymore” Regulus grumbles, taking a sip of his coffee. James chuckles as he tries to join his lover under the cover, only to be pushed away by Jiji, their cat.
After putting his still almost full cup on the nightstand, Regulus picks Jiji up. “You menace, let my man cuddle me.”
“So….” James smiles “I’m your man ?”
“Of course you are, idiot” Regulus says as he gets closer to cuddle. “You give me cuddles, you are my man, that’s how it works.”
“Anyone who gives you cuddles is your man ?” James asks with puppy eyes.
“Of course, why do you think I keep Jiji ? She gives me cuddles, she is my girl.”
“Really ?” James jokes “I thought you keeped her because she is your other self”
“Are you comparing me to a kitten, James ?” Regulus fake gasps, making James laugh as he pulls Regulus closer to cuddle. “Of course I am, I still didn’t find any proof that you are not secretly a grumpy black kitten.”
Regulus chuckles, “I’ll let you know that I am a very menacing panther."
“Sure you are Love” James says as he tuck his chin on Regulus’s head.
