Summary
Bosco is the ultimate popular girl in school. She is extremely well known and adored. All the girls want to be friends with her, all of the boys want to date her, she is the definition of a teen dream. Daya is... not. She has her friends, but she is by no means well-known outside her circle. And to the others who do know her, she is known to be loud, rowdy, and for playing in a band that will probably never take off past her garage. Daya has always acted content with her social standing, but deep down she has always wanted to be well known. She just hopes that when she goes to her high school reunion in ten years people will actually remember her name. And with senior prom coming up, she sees the perfect chance to cement herself in her classmate's minds forever. The only problem? She doesn't know how to be popular. Especially not popular enough to be voted prom queen. When she decides to enlist Bosco's help, their opposite personalities clash at first. But once they begin to get closer, it becomes unclear if all the hours spent together are really going towards the whole "Project: Prom Queen" plan. Daya has always had a little crush, and maybe it's time for Bosco to stop pretending she doesn't feel the same.
