Sleeping Society: The Saga

Summary:

The GSC President had disappeared, leaving behind a massive power vacuum in Kivotos.
S.C.H.A.L.E, try as they might, had done their best to defend the acacity (academy city) - but its student residents had grown increasingly worried as Kivotos continued to show signs of falling to chaos.
Henceforth, S.C.H.A.L.E established the Sleeping Society, an independent branch for both recreational and studying purposes. It was a way to bring assurance to the student populace that Kivotos would stand strong in the face of difficulty, and ensuring that it wouldn't interfere with their studies and way of life.
Its members, ranging from different schools, would choose to join, being only accepted into it depending on a range of factors weighed by SCHALE - however, focused more on the intention than the means, they had failed to find a way to properly enforce the requirements needed to enter, so anyone could get in.
This branch having been established just before the start of present day Volume 3, Kivotos is given a significant yet abrupt reminder of Arius' existence and strength, as well as the fragility of society run by naive students.

Chapter 1: 0-0: CONTEXT & CREDITS

Before you read this fanfic, I would recommend that you know some canon divergences that I decided to take on for creative purposes in order to tell the story I want to tell.

However, it would also help if you are a player/fan of Kivotos Battlegrounds and are part of the community, in which case this fanfic might flow better as there will be a lot of different inside jokes in this and references to actual events that occurred in the Discord server of the community.

For example:

- Most (if not all) the characters are based off of actual members in the KBG community

- The Kraken (you'll see later) is an inside joke within the community in which players who jump off the map and die have the following quote be told to them: "THE KRAKEN TAKES ANOTHER"

- The ships you will see are based off of actual relationships within the server (albeit exacerbated to turn romantic/sexual in nature)

- THERE IS NO CHEATING, POLYCULES ARE A THING

It would also help if you understand Blue Archive lore - although it's covered in a way that's understandable in this story as well :3

In the meantime, here are the canon divergences made in this fanfic:

- The royal family of Arius are the Hearts; specifically three St. Justina Council members who came to the aid of Arius when Trinity had destroyed its school grounds

- Outsiders don't exist (etc. Sensei, Black Suit)

- Consequently, Gematria doesn't exist either

- SCHALE is less active (in that they merely assign students who work under the GSC branch to go investigate - luckily, they're highly capable, hence why Kivotos has still (mostly) followed along the main storyline Blue Archive has underwent so far until this point (Volume 3.)

- Trinity and Gehenna are far more lenient with one another thanks to their acknowledgement with the existence of an Eden Treaty finally, legally establishing a peace with one another and thus efforts taken to facilitate such

- The prophet Kuzunoha has been replaced with the Kraken
