Summary
His mother’s suitors never left him a moment of peace—from morning to night they were raucous and gluttonous. They ate his mother’s food and took advantage of her generosity while they all pined for her, wanting nothing less than to be the next king of Ithaca. Xenia dictated they offer hospitality to the suitors, but they took it too far. If Telemachus had an ounce of his father’s strength, he would have driven them from the palace by now.
