    Summary

Skell sat cross-legged on the living room floor, surrounded by broken toys and remnants of his earlier temper tantrum. He looked at the mess around him, his expression a blend of guilt and defiance. An overturned lamp, broken toys, and scattered books—the aftermath of his uncontrollable burst of anger.

His mother, Elenor, knelt beside him, picking up the pieces. She didn't scold him though, understanding the source of his pain. This was their dance.

"Another tantrum?" she asked softly, her voice steady and free of judgment.

Skell nodded, avoiding her gaze. His hands fidgeted in his lap, fingers curling into loose fists.

"They were 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘱𝘪𝘥 𝘵𝘰𝘺𝘴," he muttered, still bristling. Anger simmered just under his skin, his eyes flickering with a familiar gold glow.

"Perhaps some of them were," Elenor agreed, her voice quiet. She picked up a broken toy car, studying it before placing it in a pile. "But they were yours, weren't they?"
