Summary
Peeta is the Prince of Panem who refuses to take his title of King seriously. So he's sent away to complete a year of university upon his father's orders in hopes to allow Peeta to get it out of his system. That proves to be not as simple as any of them expected.
"She hesitated for a moment, biting her lip before meeting his eyes again. "Maybe we could do this again sometime."
He felt his pulse quicken, warmth flooding his chest. "I'd like that."
"Good," she said simply, a soft smile gracing her lips. "Me too."
Peeta watched her walk away, heart beating pleasantly faster than normal, already looking forward to their next conversation. He leaned back against the tree again, letting the warmth and simplicity of the moment wash over him.
For the first time in what felt like forever, Peeta didn't feel like he was playing a role or living up to expectations.
He was simply himself—just Peeta, sitting under a tree, smiling like a fool, and utterly content with exactly who he was."
