Today, Malcolm, head of the Athena when Annabeth was gone, decided to have a homeschooling class for the younger campers that have been at camp for a while. There was a daughter of Apollo, an Ares girl, the twin daughters of Nike, a child of Aeolus and a daughter of Aphrodite.
It was the middle of winter, and they really didn’t want to learn math and stuff. Zeus had made it warm inside the barrier, but outside was cold still. All the kids met in the Nike cabin, because it was just the twins Holly and Laurel Victor in there.
Once everyone was in the cabin they came up with an idea.
“I bet my idea is better than yours, Holly!” Laurel yelled as she climbed to the top bunk, trying to make it there before her sister.
“You wish!”Holly yelled louder as she also raced to the top bunk as well.
“I got up first!” Laurel told her sister.
“No! I did!” Holly yelled back.
The twins started bickering, so the daughter of Aphrodite took over, her name was Valintina Diaz. She had short blond curls, her skin was a dark tan and her eyes were blue.She was wearing a CHB sweater with jean shorts. She had six beads on her necklace, so she had been here for six years.
“Okay, so we don't want to go homeschooling,” She started.
“So, we need an idea of how all of us can skip, we can’t pretend to be sick, because of the Apollo kids,”
She nodded at Kayla, who was an Apollo kid.
Kayla just nodded, her older half brother would figure it out if they pretended to be sick. He was the head and only medic at camp.
“But also,” Kayla started. “He’s been pretty busy with his boyfriend, Nico,” She finished.
“Right, how did I forget? So faking sick is still in the picture,”
Dakoda Crane, a child of Aeolus, Also had an idea.
“What if we all go missing!”
The room went silent.
“Uhhh, when Percy went missing they went crazy! And that was one person! Imagine if all of us went missing,”
We all considered this, but eventually we all had to keep thinking.
“Okay, faking sick it is!” Valentina Told everyone.
“OMG!” She continued. “We should go swimming!”
Everyone looked at eachother, then back at her. And everyone was thinking the same thing. Percy. But, Percy was in New Rome with Annabeth, but still, maybe he could feel people going into the water. I know that's weird, but people at camp sometimes have weird powers.
“Fine.” Kayla agreed.
And after that the rest of them agreed.
“So, everyone’s clear on the plan?”
Dakoda was now incharge, after Valentina ran off to pick a swimsuit.
“Yes,” They all said boredly, they'd been here for like half an hour, but half bloods have ADHD, so it felt like three years.
The next morning, all the kids who were going to homeschool were picking their bathing suits, and pulling their hair back. Then, it happened. All the campers were called into the dining pavilion, for a big surprise. None of the kids knew that that surprise would help with their plan to skip.
“Campers!” Chiron yelled to all of them.
“We have a very special surprise!”
Chiron moved aside to reveal two young adults. One had long blonde hair, tied up into a messy bun, her skin was a deep tan, she was wearing a Camp Jupiter T-shirt and she was wearing a CHB necklace. The necklace had 11 beads on it. One for every year she was at camp. Annabeth. The tan Daughter of Athena. Older sister of Malcolm, ‘that wasn’t good’ The kids thought, but then came the good thing.
Standing behind her was a boy, he was taller than her by about five inches. He had Black hair with some blonde in the front. Where he used to have a streak of gray in his hair, now it looked like he had been bleaching it. He had a surfing tan, and he was built like a surfer boy, he also wore a Camp Jupiter T-Shirt and a camp necklace witch had 6 beads on it, his upper forearm had a tattoo of a trident, the symbol of Poseidon, or I guess Neptune. He had a few hair clips in his hair, they had crowns and rainbows. He must have stopped by his little sister's house. Percy. As he and his girlfriend went to sit down at their tables, he tried taking the hair clips out. Dakoda looked around. And caught a glimpse at the Apollo table, where the son of Hades was holding back laughter as he watched Percy struggle. Eventually Percy sat down at the Poseidon table.
Chiron spoke again.
“As you older campers can see, Percy and Annabeth are back for the weekend!”
He continued.
“And for the younger campers, this is Percy Jackson, and Annabeth Chase! Son of Poseidon and daughter of Athena! They are some of the strongest,” He looked at both of them. “And bravest demi-gods I know!”
The younger demi-gods started whispering, then chiron cleared his throat to speak. Then an unclaimed demi-god from the Hermes cabin raised his hand.
“Yes, Oliver,” Chiron called on him.
“Isn’t that the dude who blew up his school?” The short unclaimed child asked.
Percy looked over at him and smiled. Percy had done more than just accidentally blowing up his old schools. Oliver gulped back his other questions.
Chiron waved for Percy to come up and talk, to tell the boy that was an accident, but Percy shook his head.
Then he signed for Annabeth to walk up and talk, Annabeth didn’t stall.
“And for those who don’t know,” Annabeth started “We also participated in the second titan war and the prophecy of seven.” Annabeth finished. “Tartarus survivors!”
“Oh, shut up Annabeth!” Nico DiAngelo, son of Hades, yelled from the Apollo table.
“You shut up, Nico Alexander DiAngelo!” she yelled back.
Nico looked surprised that Annabeth knew his middle name, but Kayla also saw him turn red. Then Kayla looked over at Percy, he was about to laugh too, but then he saw cabin 1’s table. Then looked back at his girlfriend and singled her to come sit with him at table 3.
When Annabeth saw the sadness on his face, she knew she had to go sit down with her boyfriend. After breakfast, the kids were called to the Athena cabin for homeschooling. And unfortunately, Annabeth was also there, this would be extremely hard now.
After the first few minutes Laurel and Holly looked at eachother nodded and then Holly signed to Mark, from the Ares cabin, and he signed to Valintina and so on.
Then, Holly and Laurel raced up to the front of the cabin.
“Miss Annabeth!” They both yelled at the same time.
“Stop copying me!” They told each other at the same time.
“UHG! You're impossible!” Then they slowly look up at Annabeth, Holly and Laurel look back at each other, “I’ll say it,” Mouthes Laurel. Holly wanted to fight back, but it was too late.
“Miss Annabeth, My head hurts!” Then Laurel held her head to sign that it hurt.
“Mine too, maybe it's some type of twin telepathy!”
Annabeth excused them both from the cabin to go lie down, but they headed to behind the cabin. Now all that needed to be done was for the others to get out of the Athena cabin. The next to go up to Annabeth and Malcolm was Kayla.
“Annabeth, my head also hurts, maybe something is going around?” If anyone got sick it wouldn't be from the Apollo cabin. Cabin 7 is (Not always) immune from being sick. Or really sick. So also excused her from the cabin and so on.
Once they all made it to the back of the cabin, everyone there started walking to the beach, wearing their swimsuits underneath their clothes. At the beach, they jumped in and started swimming.
It was so much fun, but then, Percy came along.
He was also ready to swim, he jumped in and didn’t come up for air. The kids started to panic. What if he caught us? They were all thinking. Then, Percy emerged from the water.
“Are you just going to sit there?” He asked. He looked even more intimidating in the water. Then, thunder sounded. “What did I do now, Zeus!” Percy screamed.
Lightning struck near the water, and it started to rain.
“Great.” Mark muttered.
The campers rushed out of the water and went to grab their clothes, but they were soaked, so they snuck back to their cabins. Once Valentina got back to Cabin 10, Piper Mclean was waiting for her there.
“Annabeth told me you were coming to the cabin to lay down,” She started.
“Next time, if your going to lie to get out of homeschooling, don’t lie to my best friend,”
Valentina was shocked, she didn’t know how close Piper and Annabeth really were. Then, she started to sneeze. She was sick, the rain had made her sick.
Then in the Apollo cabin, Will was waiting for Kayla.
“Oh, my god.” He said.
“You, FAKED SICK?” Kayla just gulped.
“You, are grounded. Your going to help me in the infirmary.”
Kayla nodded, got dressed in non wet clothes and layed on her bed.
“Your helping starts at 6am sharp tomorrow,” Will told her before leaving the cabin.
The next morning, Holly and Laurel were in the infirmary because they were also sick. Then Piper McLean slowly walked in with Valentina, who looked like she had been sneezing all night, (And the whole Aphrodite cabin looked like they hadn’t slept for weeks after) so, she lied down and Kayla had to help. After noon, all the kids who were skipping homeschooling were in the infirmary.
And to this day, when they try to homeschool the campers, they always tell this wonderful story.
