Chapter Text

To Jake, it's been a really interesting week. When he accidentally broke his bones, he wasn't expecting to have new friends from his Creator’s dimension, well a new friend, NE02022023 Moondrop doesn't really like him much, or at all.

NE02022023 Sunrise is really nice tho, he asks how he feels, and has been giving him advice on things!!

NE02022023 Moondrop has been giving him advice too…….. involving murder.

Not really good ones…. But he doesn't want to shut anyone away, that wouldn't be fair. That surprised both of them.

Jack remembers how he made both of them, how he made NE02022023 Moondrop:

When the Pumpkin themed animatronic was charging, he then found himself in the mind-space, a different part of it, it was pretty dark and foggy, and extremely difficult to see.

 

 

“Now that I've pulled you in here.”, the voice sounded calm but, there was something else in it, something that made Jack feel a chill down his spine and his stomach uneasy…… 

But he still made sure to look around, determined to find who it was, because it isn't NE02022023 Sunrise's, “Hello, where are you–??” 

“Boo.” He turned around fast and saw a moon model 2 feet behind him, the moon model looked to be observing him up and down. He didn't say anything else to him……

 

“How did you get me in here? You said you “pulled me” here”. Jack then tilted his head, is this how mind-spaces work? Can NE02022023 Sunrise do that too?? He didn't mention that.. Also, the moon model was looking at him like he said something dumb, it's not dumb question. He only wanted to know if NE02022023 Sunrise could “pull him” into the mind-space too..

 

Said moon model rolled his optics, before just staring at him for a minute. Is he trying to make him feel uneasy on purpose……??? It feels like it. This place being cold and dark isn't really helpful to the Halloween-Lunar Animatronic either. The moon model spoke up again, “I just brought you here to talk, being in your head I'd like to know you.” The way he said that made the Jack-o'-lantern animatronic think back to what NE02022023 Sunrise said about the emotion “happiness” early today, this moon model sounds happy, but he also doesn't sound happy either. “Are you going to get rid of me???” The gaze was challenging but Jack didn't really pay attention to that because he said “No. I wouldn't mind being friends.” and it meant it.

The older moon model just watched him for a moment, seeing if he was being either serious or planning something.

After that he remembers learning that the moon model is from the same dimension as his creation and NE02022023 Sunrise, so he's NE02022023 Moondrop. From the looks of it, NE02022023 Moondrop really doesn't like his creator much…… & NE02022023 Sunrise keeps yelling at the other when the night themed animatronic tells him suggestions of murder……

But recently they've picked out nicknames, DayDream is NE02022023 Sunrise and NightTerror is NE02022023 Moondrop.

Today was normal, Jack was helping Dazzle find a gift for Sun, and DayDream was explaining to him that it was probably traumatizing for Sun when he made that joke about dying like everyone else in the family. NightTerror was oddly quiet when DayDream & himself were talking about it, how he would've been sad and angry if his creator came back without any of his memories, and how he wanted to make Earth and Moon feel better by getting them a gift. He was mainly watching up until Jake & DayDream got to where Jake was supposed to watch Molten…. Up until the pumpkin animatronic suggested that they could tell Montgomery about them so they could have separate bodies.

DayDream was about to say no then and there when NightTerror quickly said “You know, that's the smartest idea you've had for once. That way we could all have freedom to do what we want.” To Jack-O-Moon. That just made DayDream angry, the morning themed animatronic said “No.” A lot more sharper than he meant to, but how could his brother agree with this idea now after what happened the first time they've done that!!!??!!!

“What do you mean no?” 

“We're not separating.” DayDream’s optics were glaring daggers at his younger brother while saying it, NightTerror when given him a look, a look that meant he wasn't about to drop it, “It wouldn't be the first time we've tried separating, the Moon and Sun here did, along with it happening with the Sun and Eclipse here. Shouldn't he know why you're so against it?” He felt his fans quicken in their pace at the words, the confused look on the younger one's face, before saying "Don't even play this NightTerror, I swear to God." Jack then looked at each of them before asking the question that DayDream was dreading. “What are you talking about…??” If his heart could stop, it would.

“You wanna tell him brother, or should I??” The tone was testing, not actually giving him a real opinion on this, “Tell me what…??” Jack questioned, they could both tell that the boy was getting both more confused and frustrating at the same time. “What are you talking about, tell me what??!!” 

NightTerror couldn't help himself from feeling assumed by this, he literally had his brother taken away from him, all because he didn't listen to him about separating him and that virus, now he doesn't want to. “Oh, Kid, you have no clue what happened.” DayDream, then when tried to stop him, tried, “Don't. You. Dare.”

“Don't dare what? Tell him about how this happened to begin with, that we both died because of his creator. Is that what you're talking about?” To say that NightTerror knew what he was doing, is an understatement, it was loud enough for Jack-O-Moon to hear it, and the tone that sounded like there was no humor in it either. Like saying facts.

Jack: “What!!!???!!!” Yellow optics went wide in shock, and more confusion, the other moon model continued on, “Everything is alright now, since nobody actually died. Yes, DayDream died because of the separation between himself and your creator. Yes, your creator also killed me years later but, since nobody actually~ died it's fine.”

DayDream when snapped at him, “Do you know how much of a hypocrite you are going with this idea??”

NightTerror snapped right back at him, “Do you know that this would've happened if he never showed up at all!!!!! And what does the literal war machine know!!!!!” Jack just flinched at being called that, those words felt a lot more painful than the other insults NightTerror says at him, “war machine”, that really hurt, he was made for protection, even though he failed and did a bad job at it, he wasn't a “war machine”, right…………????

“NightTerror, That's Enough!!!!” Each word from the sun model might as well have been ice. “We both know that it was my idea to separate myself & Solar, Solar was also considered about it, I wanted him to have freedom too.” All DayDream wanted was for both his brothers to be happy, and yet, one mistreated the other, now he's dragging a little kid into this!!!!

Jack didn't deserve to get pulled into a situation that wasn't his fault.

“We're not gonna risk Jack. If I remember correctly, you were against the separation too, now you're in agreement!? With an Actual Kid’s life on the line, do you know how hypocritical that is!?” It took everything in the morning animatronic to not yell & scream at him, he didn't want to do this in front of Jack, “At the time none of us knew that was going to happen, but you didn't have to hurt him, he already felt awful for what happened to me and it wasn't even his fault! It wasn't Solar’s fault that he was trapped in my head, when you decided to leave your Killcode in me!” DayDream optics went to the Jack-o'-lantern animatronic, “Jack, I am so sorry, you should have gotten told about this earlier, I just didn't want you to get hurt……….”

It was a long afternoon after that conversation……

The pumpkin animatronics was completely lost in his thoughts, it was a lot to take, he was between feeling mad that this was hidden from him, but mainly sad, sad that his suggestion caused a huge fight to happen, and brought up trauma that he didn't mean to bring up for them. Maybe….., maybe…..??? He should get them to talk it out with each other, to him it sounds like they're both hurt.

The lunar-pumpkin animatronic thought of a plan, a therapy session would work!!!!! So he quickly grabbed DayDream by the hand when he went into the mind-space, and found out where in the mind-space NightTerror was. “We're talking!!!” Jack declared, “We are going to take turns speaking about how we feel, and I think it's time we talk things through!!!” Jake chirped up. “Frame your statements like this, ‘When you do this, it makes me feel this.’, which one of you is something 1st??”

~~Later~~

That could have gone better, DayDream was definitely not happy, and really-really upset…. But Jack noticed that the other moon model hadn't really said anything during the therapy session. But, he was listening, he could tell!!!!! 

Tho, Jack-O-Moon was worried about the fact that NightTerror was silent..…. So, he should go check him, he just hopes that this goes well.

At this point, he's pretty good at going through the Mind-Space, it's still hard to see through NightTerror’s part of the Mind-Space but he's gotten better, and night-vision is something all moon models have anyways so that helps! 

Minutes passed by as He kept walking through, he still found NightTerror’s part of the Mind-Space cold, dark, and nerve racking! The pumpkin themed animatronic did find who he was looking for, just sitting on the floor, it looked like his mind was elsewhere, “Hi Night!!” Jack called, which almost made the other jump at the sudden noise, the key-word being almost. Which made Jack title his head and blink, was he okay…..? He hasn't really said anything in a long time, so he's been wondering if something was wrong. He doesn't want anyone hurt, even if he was awful, & he wants to make sure it's okay. “Are, Are you okay…..?” Jack’s voice was a bit uneven but he mainly kept it steady. NightTerror just looked at him like he asked if the sky was made of fish, his gaze was still on the floor..

“Why are you here?” NightTerror asked the boy slowly, and very confused on why Jack asked if he was okay, after everything he did. He really messed up big time, and there's no fixing any of this ever, so why ask if he's okay?

“Like I said before, I wanted to know if you were okay.” The words were said carefully, and he could tell that NightTerror was feeling bad, he knows what it's like to lose someone, he lost his creator after-all………… “What you did was really wrong, & will never be okay, but I do understand what it's like to lose someone important. If you want to talk about it, I'll listen.”

There was a moment of silence, maybe he wanted him to leave, “I'll go, but you can talk to me about it when you want to.” As Jack went off NightTerror couldn't help but think that, DayDream was right, that Jack-O-Moon is clearly a smart kid & is honestly too forgiving, right, he would've have seen his older brother again if it wasn't for Jack’s experience, an animatronic that Solar made. 

Chapter Text

Jack: “Hey, Dream…” he said this slowly and with nerves in his tone. Both things that DayDream picked up on, “Jack, is something wrong…??”

The pumpkin-lunar animatronic sigh slowly and then answered, “I think I said something that made NightTerror feel bad, I don't know he hasn't said anything in 2 weeks since I checked on him. Just wanted to make sure he's okay…..” DayDream didn't know how to respond to that, especially after the way his brother treated Jack and Solar both, but he is actually worried for him….. begrudgingly the daytime animatronic knows what he should do, “Moon Bloom, none of this was your fault whatsoever. All of this just happened unfortunately, but this situation is never your fault. I'll go talk to him, okay.” Jack felt a lot more better after that, and equally surprised cause the of them haven't gotten along at all, with the arguments and yelling at each other, the difference views the night themed & day themed animatronics have but, the fact that DayDream wants to go talk to NightTerror made him really happy!!

All NightTerror wanted to do was be alone for, he doesn't know for how long.

He, hates, this, so much, and he doesn't know why Jack didn't wanna get rid of him yet. He was trying to manipulate him, or kill him during the separation, all because he had to blame someone, he blamed Solar for everything, and Jack too for being trapped……

What was he doing……? What has he done……?

When DayDream came in, NightTerror was sitting on the floor, holding his knees to his chest, “We need to talk….” 

NightTerror: “Why??” There's literally no point in it, what's the use of it?? The feelings he has are all mixed up, and it's just a storm. He's been angry for a long time and he doesn't know what to do about the change in emotions!!!

DayDream then spoke up again, “First of all, what you didn't wasn't okay, and you hurt a ton of people. & You torment Jack who wasn't involved with any of this.” He was upset, but he was going to state the facts and Jack really wanted to make sure that the older moon model was okay after 3 whole weeks, and…. And he does miss his little brother too, he just wished things could have been •different• with all heart, that NightTerror didn't lose himself to madness, that Solar got treated well and with love, they both needed a childhood.

& He blames his creator for that, who'll never be considered his father. “I know.” Came from the other animatronic, that it nearly 

NightTerror's optics looked up DayDream, there was no defense but he did angry, “You dead. All I wanted was for my killcode to be gone, but instead, it created a new life, you took on most of it, and then you died helping said new life get a body.” The words were low and sounded like he was fighting back a yell, but he still said what he meant. “You were the 1st person Nice me, and you died. That hurt. It hurt when my killcode showed up a year later and they forced us together, & it hurt seeing someone everyday who was the reason you died.”

Thinking about it, all the hurt he felt made him want to hurt something else (someone else) back, he hated everything and everyone, but thinking more about what DayDream said before, somewhere that was deeply buried so down into his void of a heart (if he has one, or had one ever)…..

He knew it was wrong…..

Every single thing he did, has settled in mind. He's been angry for so long, so long…. It wasn't when he was first put into DayDream, his killcode wasn't activated at the time, he was happier than. Only a year of that lasted when it activated. It was one s*** show after another, and over & over again!!! After that, after everything, he couldn't stop the anger no matter what he, what's done is done, there's no point in trying to fix any of this….. and once again he repeated what he said before to the sun model, with more of an finality to it, “I know…..”

“So, I'll be better idea to for me to •stay• here instead of continuing being around the kid or you, that way things stay peaceful.” 

“That is not how you fix your problems. How on earth would that fix a thing??!!!” DayDream astonished that-, That this is what the Night themed animatronic thinks he should be doing!! “You know. But you still did, and This, isn't how you fix mistakes at all!” DayDream shakes his head, trying to process his brother's own thought process, “Everyone messes up, Everyone makes bad decisions and mistakes, some decisions are worse than others, but it's what you do to actually fix the mistakes that matters!” DayDream said it in a way that left no more for an argument, “Jack is worried for you.” That made NightTerror’s optics go wide, that doesn't make sense at all….

NightTerror’s gaze went to DayDream’s, he finally given a sigh “The kid is an odd one.” 

This was probably the 1st time he hasn't said anything in a mean way about the Jack-o'-lantern animatronic….. (He did see the bot as only a thing Solar made. & Like how he blamed Solar for everything, something he never should have done. He has blamed Jack.) The pumpkin-lunar animatronic really is different, he doesn't understand emotions fully and yet he's trying to be nice to everyone, he's been trying with him.

& Somehow, Jack-O-Moon is worried about him? Even after his cruelty to him, after what he's done to everyone around? (He doesn't want to continue being this way, but, does he honestly know how to get better…..)

Maybe, he shouldn't worry the boy anymore at least.

***After watching Jack & the Creepy Santa interact***

NightTerror: …….. (Oh Hell No….) “Kill it!!! Kill it!!! Kill it!!! Kill it!!!”

DayDream **Magics a hammer.**

~~Later~~

Jack-O-Moon was completely startled when NightTerror's voice yelled that out, he's glad that he's alright. “Hi Night!” The younger one chipped up, “Are you okay? I didn't hear from you for a while?” The tone was relief and worry, a combination that NightTerror wouldn't usually pay attention to, but this time, he did. How does he respond to this……..???

“I…. I'm okay. I'm fine.” Jack felt a bit happier at that moment, the other moon model was talking to him, not meanly either so that's a great thing!

Jack also remembered something too, “Why did I hear someone using a hammer??” He's just curious about that, it happened beforehand of pained yelling. After that was asked, he could feel NightTerror's optics on DayDream. “Oooohh……” he tilted his head before asking, “Where did the hammer come from….???” DayDream: “Magic.” 

The Halloween Themed Animatronic, then thought of something, a good idea too, maybe they can hang-out together!! It'll be a great way to get to know each other better, Plus NightTerror hasn't said anything for about 3 weeks now. Being by yourself isn't fun…. it's lonely….

~~~one-shots~~~

1: NightTerror was honestly having a quiet day, DayDream is asleep right now and he was bored. Bored out of his mind, he'll just look through Jake's optics, not like he has anything else to do. He's still not sure why anyone, especially Jack, wants him around willingly but he'll try to be good.

Okay….. How come Jack is in the kitchen?? He can't taste food. Can he? Maybe it's like his old dimension when Animatronic do get that ability? It's possible that. Jack was looking for something that looked good to eat, he likes textures!! & The PizzaPlax did get sued for not having good or healthy opinions for a restaurant. So that means they'll be better food now in the kitchen!!

Jack felt NightTerror’s present watching, he sometimes wondered if the older moon model hates him, he was pretty mean for a long time, then barely said anything for a while….. 

But they've gotten NightTerror to spend a bit more time with them, which is a good thing & process! Jack opened the fridge and saw something that caught his attention, “Pizza Egg Rolls”. This is a Pizza place, “Jack aren't you gonna heat them up 1st??” Jack-O-Moon already ate 2 frozen ones before that was said.

2: Jack-O-Moon: “HELLO!” The pumpkin animatronic came into the mind-space loudly waving his hands in the air, both DayDream and NightTerror nearly jumped out of casing on the shout!!!!

DayDream was the first to recover, “Hi, Moon Bloom.” He smiled at him, “Is there anything you need??” To that Halloween Animatronic quickly nodded his head, “I've found a Disney movie!!! One of the daycare kids talked a bunch about it, it's called “Brother Bear”!!! I'd like you to watch it with me please.” He was both excited and hoping that they'll like the movie, he didn't see it either but he heard it was very-very great!! From the girl that told him about, and that she saw it with her own brother.

“That sounds like a lovely idea Jack, it's been awhile since I saw ”Brother Bear” myself, and it's one of the classics.” DayDream remembered playing that movie in the Daycare Movie Theater, it was one of older Disney films, a beloved one that was perfect for family.

Meanwhile, NightTerror when to turn to walk away, they'd probably want time to themselv– “Come on! Let's watch the movie!” Jack-O-Moon pulled him by the hand right then and there. The action surprised him, but he didn't protest against the gesture either. & DayDream felt warm at the site of it.

3: NightTerror: “Listen, all I'm saying is that, you should have at least pushed that creeper down some stairs, kid.” He said in a haff, Jack reminds him a bit of DayDream in a way, both can be too nice for their own good.

Jack-O-Moon: “But there weren't any stairs there, and I already told Mr Devil about him when it happened.” He replied in a matter of fact way because it happened.

The memory of that very moment caused the older lunar animatronic to guffaw, that was absolutely hilarious, he almost rolled over because of that!!! No hesitation at all from the Halloween-Lunar Boy, and it was great!!!

A thought came to mind, before speaking up again, some glee in his voice box. “How about this, I'll teach ya how to bombs anything and everything, but only if you're interested.” he said grinning, the Jack-o'-lantern animatronic lit up at the offer, he'd love that!!!! “YES!! YES!! That'll be so cool, and I could use it for something useful too!!!!! Thank you Uncle!!!!!”

It was 4 minutes later after that, 4 minutes when DayDream woke up and Jack started chatting with him about some daycare stuff. NightTerror isn't really sure anymore, he was still amazed by what the younger moon model called him. “Uncle”. He called him “Uncle”, when Jack said that he wanted family members of his own, he didn't really think that the lad wanted him to be a part of it, he's called his older brother Uncle but he didn't expect that he'd be called that. An Uncle.

NightTerror felt a warm feeling at the thought, it's not the heat of rage, something that he felt for years, this is a warmth that he hasn't recognized in years too. Something that made him smile just a bit more, but the smie is there.

NightTerror: (“Uncle. I'm actually an Uncle.)

He likes that a lot.
