Work Text:
“Uh, could I have a little help with the zipper?” Andy called, squirming. She’d been able to zip herself into the gown, a final fitting before the gala tomorrow, but embarrassingly found herself unable to unzip it.
To her wide-eyed shock, it wasn’t an employee who stepped through the curtain, but Miranda Priestly herself. Andy swallowed.
“Face the mirror,” Miranda said softly, moving silently to stand behind Andy as she turned. In the mirror, Andy’s eyes met Miranda’s cool blue gaze as Miranda slipped a hand along Andy’s waist. She could feel the heat of her hand through the flimsy, gauzy fabric. With her other hand, Miranda swept Andy’s hair off the back of her neck and over one shoulder, exposing her neck- and the zipper.
The sound of the zipper being pulled down, of the teeth unlatching and the soft rustle of fabric, was nearly obscene, and Andy’s breath caught. She could feel her face heating, flush, an embarrassing reaction to such a simple action.
Miranda’s gaze flicked back up, a small smile playing on her features as she met Andy’s eyes again. Her hand moved. Fingertips grazed Andy’s spine, the exposed skin of her back.
“The dress is…” Miranda’s hand on her waist tightened, “Acceptable.”
Andy could feel her breath on the back of her neck. She nodded jerkily.
“I- okay. I mean thank you,” Andy managed.
With the smallest nod, Miranda withdrew, leaving Andy breathless and alone in the dressing room.
