It was a Saturday night and most of Gryffindor's second and third years were sat in a circle, wands at the ready. Lily Evans was teaching them a Muggle game she played over the summer, spin the bottle. Except they didn't have any bottles so everyone agreed to just spin their wand instead.
"Alright," Lily explained. "This game is very simple. You just spin your wand," she spun her wand, with it landing on James. "and you have to kiss whoever it lands on. So in this situation I would have to kiss James."
James gave her a hopeful look, doing a terrible job at concealing his growing crush.
"And that's how it works, who wants to go first?" Lily picked up her wand.
Sirius gave James a comforting pat on the shoulder as the game began.
Mary spun her wand, landing on and kissing Toby Gleaves. Toby went, landing on and kissing Marlene McKinnon. Marlene went, landing on and kissing Sirius Black. Sirius went, landing on Remus Lupin.
Sirius stared at Remus and Remus stared back, both wondering what to do. The room had fallen silent. Sirius began to pucker his lips when Lily intervened.
"If that happens you can just spin again."
Sirius spun his wand, landing on and kissing Lily Evans.
