Work Text:

Roy tended not to get drunk anymore. He’d spent most of his twenties in a drunk/high stupor leaving him with a very high tolerance. So, basically, Roy had to drink a lot to even feel drunk and on top of that, he was too fucking old to be dealing with hangovers. But when he did get drunk, Jamie became like… super boyfriend.

After finishing his first year as manager for Richmond, landing the team in a respectable 5th place, the lads all took him out. They all supplied him with drinks the whole night and Roy let himself be treated (much at the behest of Jamie who persuaded Roy to let people take care of him for once). He was tipsy after a few, but he got truly drunk after Dani insisted they do shots of the tequila he brought from home. When Roy asked where he got it Dani just said ‘a friend’ and poured a hefty pour into Roy’s glass.

Jamie watched as Roy tipped over the edge into drunkenness as his cheeks reddened almost immediately. He heaved, coughing as the alcohol went down his throat. Jamie had promised Roy he would take care of him and the second he saw the change Jamie locked the fuck in. It didn’t hurt that when Roy got drunk he stuck to Jamie like a magnet.

“You’re a pretty, pretty, boy, Jamie,” Roy had his arms wrapped around Jamie, shoving his face into his hair. “You’re so pretty.”

“Thanks babe, that’s dead nice of you.”

“Your hair is so pretty.” Roy picked up a strand of his hair. “So soft.”

“I keep telling you you need to condition your hair, it’ll make yours all fluffy.”

Roy tilted his head into Jamie’s, smacking a wet kiss to his cheek. “Lovely boy.”

He kept kissing Jamie’s face, leaving a sloppy trail down to Jamie’s neck where sober Roy knew Jamie had a sweet spot and drunk Roy apparently knew where it was as well. His lips found it easily, giving it a little nibble.

“AYE!” Jamie tried to pry himself out of Roy’s arms. “Alright, baby, I think it’s time we went home.”

“Noooooo!”

Roy was a runner, though. And Drunk Roy didn’t remember he had a bad knee so the second he was outside the bar, he was off. He never made it far, thankfully, just because Roy didn’t remember his knee was shit, his body certainly did.

Jamie ended up having to help a weepy Roy back into the car.

“I used to be so fast, Jamie.”

“I know you were.”

“Here,” Roy gestured vaguely. “There,” Another gesture. “And everywhere.”

“I know, baby.”

But Roy fell asleep in the car. Once drunk Roy was asleep he was out. Luckily, Jamie was happy to carry him. Roy’s head nuzzled into his shoulder as he carried him up the stairs. Jamie was able to get him into a sleep shirt and tuck him into bed before going to shower and change himself.

“Jamie?” Roy’s small voice called from the bed.

Jamie looked in the mirror and saw Roy squinting, looking around for him. He smiled to himself and turned off the bathroom light.

“I’m here, baby,” Jamie soothed as he slid under the blankets.

Roy snuggled into Jamie the second he was close enough, wrapping his legs around him and humming in content.

“I love you, Jamie,” He said, slightly muffled.

Jamie smiled to himself. Roy Kent loved him. That was dead sweet, that is. And completely unbelievable to Jamie’s mind. He gave Roy a kiss on the head.

“I love you, too”
