I will only break your pretty things,

Summary:

Misanthropy — a dislike of humankind. Jeremy knows that word well.
The SQUIP always brought it up.

Now he’s not waking up.

And maybe the question isn’t what happened to the SQUIP…

It’s what happens when it takes you with it.

Notes:

this chapter is only short because I wanna see how it does to I can see if I should continue it! If you really want me to, can you drop a comment pls !

Work Text:

Jeremy's trembling hands grasp the mountain dew red bottle, the squips voice in his ear like a song stuck in your head, it's practically begging him not to do this.

"Don't do this to yourself, Jeremy. you could be so cool— christine could like you!"

He ignores the staticy voice in his ear, lifts the bottle to his lips and chugs the last little bit of it.

It feels like someone's hands are ripping his brain apart, making a whole new person out of parts of different people, he screams. Jeremys hands grip his hair, he can hear it scream too. Those ear piercing, ringing screams that sound like they are straight out of an old game, the ones that him and Michael play. Then he blacks out.

Jeremy jolts up in his own bed, the house is quiet, the sound isn't polluted by his dad's romcoms like it usually is. He sits up, his legs wobbly.

"Dad..?" He calls out, everything's too nice, he has to be dreaming or something, then he hears it. A distant static from the living room. His legs almost give out, the boys shaky hands find the wall like a lifeline. Jeremy cautiously walks to the living room, looking at all the pictures that seem so slightly off.

The tvs on, the status hurting his eyes and frankly, creeping him out.

"Let's try this again, shall we?"
