   “Edward. I have… news.” Alice paused, her silence hanging on the other end of the line.

   “Okay? Is everything alright?” I pushed for clarification.

   She sighed. “I um… I don’t really know.”

   “What do you mean? Is it Jasper? Did something happen in Ithaca?” Without me there to monitor his thoughts, he could have slipped.

   “No, no. We’re all fine. It’s… Dani.” She replied in a worried tone.

   My stomach dropped. “Dani? What happened? What’s wrong?!” I was instantly frantic. Had she been hurt? Or worse?

   “That’s the thing. I don’t really know. She’s missing.”
