WOF: The Day Of The Blue Box (Wings Of Fire x Doctor Who)

Summary:

The Doctor lands in Pyrrhia, a continent on a world he hasn't visited for thousands of years for him. So, how will events play out with the Time Lord running around just after Darkstalker is released from under the mountain?

In this crossover The Doctor isn't a dragon, although he's on an original regeneration for narrative purposes.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Book's Cover:

The earlier chapters are written slightly worse than the later ones, I'll do a rewrite once I finish arc 2

A/N: Well, general disclaimer, spoilers for Doctor Who and Wings Of Fire(Set right after book 8: Escaping Peril). Doctor Who is made BBC, WOF is made by Tui. T. Sutherland. If you want illustrations read the story on Wattpad. The earlier chapters are written slightly worse than later ones, I'll do a rewrite once I finish arc 2.

Also wanted to answer potential question "why?" that nobody asked.  Well, I like Doctor Who. And the very nature of it allows for easy crossovers, which can be very fun in most cases. And WOF, in my opinion, in places is too childish and happy, I'll try to change that.

There's a (non-mandatory) prequel to this story in the form of my Doctor Who fan-film:

There's also a trailer for this book:

The old version of the story's cover(if you're interested):

(I know the dragon is awfully drawn, deal with it, I really tried)

And here's the current one(AO3 doesn't have covers for stories obviously, it's from Wattpad version):

The earlier chapters are written slightly worse than the later ones, I'll do a rewrite eventually.

THE JADE MOUNTAIN PROPHECY:

Beware the darkness of dragons,
Beware the stalker of dreams,
Beware the talons of fire,
Beware one who is not what he seems.

Something is coming to shake the earth,
Something is coming from times long gone.
Jade Mountain will fall beneath darkness of night
Unless the future and past locked in an ancient box come.

(Straflight's POV)

Starflight was going through scrolls in the library when he heard footsteps.

"Hello?" he said. "Small talonsteps, light... but not Kinkajou... with an extra flap sound when they hit the floor. Those are SeaWing talons." his mind was going over the student names. "Anemone?" he guessed.

"Yes, it's me," said the little SeaWing princess.

"What are you doing awake?" he asked.

"Something woke me. Didn't you feel it?"

"Feel what?"

He heard her cross to the wall of windows. She stood for a moment quietly, without speaking.

"Something that shook the earth..." she said at last, softly and quietly.

"Well... Maybe a bit... Probably it's our imagination playing tricks on us..." he said. (I think that, since he's blind, he'd feel an earthquake)

"Maybe..." she said, "But it felt... like someone slithering over my grave."

They both stayed silent for a while after that for awhile. But Starflight thought he heard a distant whooshing sound. "Probably the wind" he thought.

But, unbeknownst to everyone, even the ancient dragon, who rose from the mountain seconds prior, something far older than even him appeared in between the mountain peaks. It was slightly higher and wider than a dragon. It was a blue wooden box with two doors, and words "POLICE PUBLIC CALLS BOX" written on the black plate above them.

(Wasp's POV)

Far, far across the sea, in lands long lost, a dragon came up to a wooden pedestal and opened the box that was placed on top of it. She carefully took out the ancient book hidden within it. The book's cover was dark blue, with eight square outlines bumping out.

She quickly flipped through to the last page. The words on it were scribbled hastily.

I feel my life fading... But I see... I see one more vision... This is the strongest one... I have to write it down... This may be the most important one for the future of both Pyrrhia and Pantala... When darkness comes... He will return...

The man from the future and past,
Whose gaze goes beyond the stars,
Will walk among us again,
And put an end to the thousand year old pain...
He will come, and he will see
Thousands of suffering seeds...
When all hope is lost, and when ancient evil rose,
The Last Of The Time Lords will come...

She stared at the page with angry expression, despite the eyes not showing anything. This was the only prophecy that had no clear meaning. And it hasn't happened yet. All the predictions were far in the past, and very clear. But this one was cryptic. And clearly reached further than all the others. Then, an idea struck the queen. She lifted the page in librarian's talons and tore it out of the book.
