“I’ve got an early shift tomorrow,” Sangcheol checks his watch with a groan. “I probably should have left an hour ago. I’m going back to the precinct to sleep for a few hours before I’m on.”
Jeongwoo tries not to let his disappointment show, but judging by the smile playing at Sangcheol’s lips, he’s not doing a good job. He steps closer and Jeongwoo’s mouth goes dry. It’s just the two of them in this small space and it feels like they’re teetering on the edge of something. Sangcheol’s eyes are roaming over his face like he’s trying to memorise it, and Jeongwoo wishes he could say the same, but he’s caught in a loop between the other man’s eyes and lips, unable to tear his gaze away.
“I’ll stay some other time,” Sangcheol promises, reaching up to brush a thumb across his jaw.
It leaves a trail of fire in its wake and Jeongwoo’s pulse picks up and thrums through him in a way that should be embarrassing. Instead, he just wants and wants and wants.
Jeongwoo and Sangcheol have feelings for each other, but they have a case to solve and lives to get back to - so how long does it take for them to finally cross that line?

Geum-hui shakes her head at them, in high spirits from a successful opening night, and squeezes Sangcheol’s shoulder. “Thank you.”
“I didn’t do anything except tell people you were here, Ahjumma, your food spoke for itself,” he promises.
“Still, you did more than you needed to,” she tuts at him. She looks him up and down for a moment, and then she says, “And you may as well call me Eommeoni. As long as you’re planning to stick around.”
Jeongwoo fumbles the plates he was gathering, dropping them back onto the table with a loud clatter.
