[Podfic] A special friendship

Summary:

Bozhena hadn't expected to spent her evening caring for two gravely injured strangers, but she couldn't exactly turn them away when one had so desperately begged her to help his friend and then thrown himself at an armed bandit just to protect him. If the way the blond one had then outright insisted on sleeping on the ground to allow his friend more comfort was anything to go off of, he was certainly a very special friend.

Or: why Henry wakes up on a nice comfortable bed in Bozhena's cabin and Hans wakes up on a pile of straw.

First of all, thank to eliopals for giving me permission podfic!

I love outsider POVs so much, they're so unique in how each character sees the ship and characters and their main character quirks. My favourite bit was that Bozhena spoke to Hans for a combined 5 minutes and already wanted to drug him to shut him up. Go Queen.

A note on the music! It's called "Maiden in the mor lay" (a maiden lay in the moor) and is dated around the 14th -16th centuries written in middle english. It follows a question-answer format song about a woman living on her own in the moors, foraging for food and drinking from the spring. I'd like to think, in such a male dominated world both in their fiction and real lives, this woman living in thr moors and foraging for her food was a little medieval feminist icon.

I just think this is very fitting for our hermit, herbalist, forest queen Bozhena. You can find this specific vision around 15 minutes into I have set my hert so hy which, if you listen to and remember, you'll probably be able to spot which ones I'll use in the future because I WILL be coming back to here. I could have found single song versions, but I just think the singers here did a FANTASTIC job with this and their voices are so beautiful and the melody really stuck with me since the original music is lost.
