Everyone knows Baku will come when Gotak is in trouble. It’s practically Newton’s 4th Law at this point: if Gotak is here, Baku will come chasing. Or vice versa, but nobody’s ever tried getting to Go Hyuntak through Baku. That’d just be inviting suicide.
Gotak, though? That’s an easy target. Squirming bait that you catch from the shallow end and impale on your hook to bring in the real catch. It’s common knowledge now, but this wasn’t always the case.
Things weren’t always like this. Baku didn’t always used to be the protector, and Gotak wasn’t always so sensitive about Baku’s reputation. So when did it start? Why did they change? What happened during the winter break of their first year in middle school?
