It all started to go wrong at the fan-meet when Mira was sat next to two pink haired idiots.
The two Saja Boys were handsome , Mira couldn’t deny it, but frustratingly annoying as they toyed with her - playing it up for the crowd which lapped up any drop of potential shipping bait.
It was horrendous - Mira couldn’t bear it , the thought of people seeing her and these two boys together , romantically.
It made her sick. She wasn’t the type for any of that kind of mushy stuff - not that she want opposed to romance - she just couldn’t see herself with someone so … self-absorbed.
From across the room she spotted Zoey who was squished next to the one with the long hair - Mystery. She didn’t seem too unhappy however from time to time she had to reprimand him by tapping her pen on his head like she was scolding a misbehaving puppy. She caught the other girls eye and she waved slightly, giggling.
Mira sighed. God, what would she do without her.
Mira turned back to the line of fans, snatching away her pen for the 12th time from Abby who was busy refining a sketch of his abs to sign a fan’s poster.
Abby grinned holding up his hands and as Mira rolled her eyes indignantly, the fan looked between them excitedly.
Mira forced a smile, thanking the fan as she slid the signed poster across the table.
The fan took it and smiled “You three are so cute!” She hugged the poster and Mira had to contain a grimace that was forming across her face.
“I just had to ask - are you dating?”
The question hit her like a blow to the face. It was almost inevitable something like that would pop up but it still caught her off guard.
She spluttered for a moment and it seemed like the entire auditorium went silent awaiting her response - members of both groups turning to her.
Both Romance and Abby leant towards her smiling and Abby opened his mouth to speak.
Before he could say a word Mira shut them down “No,” she said hurriedly and bluntly.
The fan deflated slightly looking disappointed.
“Because I’m already dating someone.”
Shitttttt. Where did that come from?
There was an eruption of excited and intrigued chatter from the crowd and Rumi and Zoey exchanged confused looks.
She really shouldn’t have said that. You could’ve cut the apprehensive atmosphere with a knife. Mira could see Rumi mouth ‘What?’ and she had to turn away from the girl to hide her embarrassment.
Why did she say thatttttt?!!
The fan’s eyes widened, smiling with satisfaction as they had gotten the truth out of their idol “Oh? Who are you dating then?”
Zoey caught her eye - she was expressionless however something different flashed in her eyes - intrigue maybe? Disappointment?
“Zoey.”
Mira answered without thought.
Everyone on the panel looked taken aback. Shock was plastered on everyone’s faces and Mira braced herself for the disapproval.
“Really?” Romance and Abby seemed to say in unison before turning to Zoey.
The girl was flushed, mouth gaping as she stared at Mira incredulously.
Mira flashed her a desperate, pleading look as though to say ‘please go along with this’.
Zoey swallowed hard then smiled “Yes,” she confirmed to gasps from the crowd “Me and Mira have been dating for a while,” she lied putting on a more confident smile.
There were cheers from the crowd as people pulled out their phones to capture the moment their favourite idols just revealed a huge secret.
Abby and Romance looked surprised but shrugged with indifference. Romance gave Mira a gentle nudge “Good for you two.” An action of solidarity for the cameras.
Mira shot him an awkward smile before he returned his attention back to the fans and Abby returned to himself.
She was ushered by staff to sit next to her supposed girlfriend who had gone pink and was excessively widening her eyes at Mira as though to say ‘What the fuck?’
It was one way to draw the attention back to Huntr/x away from the Saja Boys as the focus mostly stayed on their relationship revelation as fans queued up to get a glimpse of the latest idol couple.

When the fan meet was finally over Rumi practically dragged them away to somewhere more private.
“You two are dating!” Rumi put her hands together “I always suspected something was going on between you - but honestly I had no idea!”
She pulled the pair into a quick hug before being called off by Bobby to do something.
Zoey turned to Mira, as they were alone now and the shorter girl crossed her arms not quite annoyed but certainly not impressed “Neither did I, apparently.”
Mira rubbed her temple “I’m so sorry - I don’t know what happened,” she apologised “Your name was just the first thing that came to mind.”
Zoey grimaced, laughing nervously as she put a comforting hand on Mira’s shoulder “I’m sure it’ll all blow over in a couple of weeks and no one will even remember.” She was partially saying it to comfort Mira but also to reassure herself.
Mira frowned to herself - they both knew something like this never would.
“Until then,” Mira attempted to smile “Uh will you be my fake girlfriend?”
Zoey’s face softened and she raised an amused eyebrow “I will.”
There was an awkward silence between the pair before Zoey tried to break the ice, face red.
“I mean it could we worse, huh?” She nudged Mira “We’re only going to pretend. You could’ve said you were dating uhhhh Abby or something.
Mira nodded breathing out a sigh of relief “Yeah - that guys a nightmare. All abs no brain.”
The pair laughed together - it was genuine this time, not at all forced or awkward.
Soon enough Zoey was beckoned away as well and she shot Mira some finger guns and a grin “See ya later girlfriend.”
Mira rolled her eyes but couldn’t help a smile from sneaking onto her face.
Maybe pretending wouldn’t be so bad if it was with Zoey.
