Summary
When a student goes missing on the same night that eerie columns of light appear throughout Hogwarts, Professors Hermione Granger and Severus Snape are forced to team up to investigate.
(Sort of a continuation to my other story, Schoolyard Legend; I imagine they took place in the same universe even though I've now given Snape a cane he didn't have in the other one)“And just what do you think you’re doing here, Miss Granger?”
Hermione jumped, and spun round in the dark. It took a moment for her eyes to adjust from the bolt of light which had, only seconds before, almost blinded her - until eventually Snape’s pale, gaunt face swam into view, mottled by the after-image of the curiosity still glowing brilliantly behind her.
“The same thing as you, I expect,” she said haughtily. “And it’s Professor Granger now, as you well know.”
