It’s over.
The apocalypse’s over.
We managed to defeat that dreaded thing.
Cha Euijae slammed the tip of his spear on the ground as he was about to fall. His breathing was erratic.
Jungbin was about to check on him until he was called for emergencies. He cast a worried glance at the tired Hero before walking away. Everyone near him looks at him with worry. Yet, they still went on with their own duties as there were a lot of casualties.
He lifted his head, eyes darting around in the open space. The injured and sickly were being treated under the medical tent. People were busy going in and out of various tents, taking notes of each other.
I’m glad, he thought.
His breathing hitched when he saw the silhouette of a tall man cladded in black walks out of the group of people. His clothing doesn’t look as prim and proper as it always has been but the pretty face is the same as usual. Oh.. How he missed seeing that face.
How he missed the feeling of the cold cheeks filling his palm. The eyelashes that would playfully flutter when he brushes his thumb across them… The plump lips that would curl up upon seeing him.. The warm and affectionate gaze from those eyes.. Lee Sayoung..
His heart begins to beat wildly.
Noticing the gaze, the violet eyes of the black haired man widened but then they turned into crescents, an evident truth that he was smiling. Both of them quietly locked eyes with each other.
His eyes flashes blue.
Ah- the flame.. It’s the familiar intense violet flame. It’s him. It’s Lee Sayoung.
A lump began to form in his throat. Words he wanted to say, the things he wanted to share, everything melted away at the sight of his only.
All he wanted to do was to be next to him. Chatting, bantering, fighting.. anything just to be together.
The man opens his arms wide, urging him to walk over.
Walk there? No way.
He stores his beloved spear into his inventory before tapping his foot on the uneven ground.
However, before he knew it, he had already jumped off the ground, running into the embrace of the taller man at full speed.
The man caught him, his body staggered due to the impact yet he managed to stand firm on the ground.
A familiar sweet scent overpowers his senses. He inhales deeply, his hold on the other man tightened with the objective of not letting him run away. Lee Sayoung lets him.
A strong arm circled his waist, pulling him closer. A large hand gently caresses his hair, soft murmurs of “You’ve done enough, Hyung. Rest.” resounded next to his ear.
The people around them decided to give both of the top hunters space, leaving them peacefully in the middle.
After a moment of basking in the warm embrace, his consciousness began to fade. He unconsciously gripped onto Lee Sayoung’s coat, crumpling them in his hand with worry. A low whisper of “It’s okay, I’m here” next to him calms his nerves.
He slumped against the body of the taller man, his breathing even. Lee Sayoung gently carries him in a princess carry, firmly holding onto him before walking away from the group of people.
