   Summary

   Maya lives on the isle of the lost with her grandmother, Mrs. Mim. Everything is as normal as life on the island can be, except that she has a secret : she has a little bit of magic !
   She ends up meeting a strange little boy who is trying to provoke an old crocodile into biting off his hand. Maya, intrigued, decides to follow him and find out why someone would want to get rid of such a beautiful hand.
