Chapter Text
Susie was shitting herself.
Okay—maybe not literally, but mentally it felt like everything was going to shit.
It had been about a week since her and Noelle had started going out. Everything was going fine—great, even. Noelle was attentive and caring and overall was just perfect, at least Susie thought so but fuck everyone else, right? Anyway, everything was going great until Noelle invited her over one day under the pretenses of "working on their project."
First of all, they didn't have a project. Secondly, the first time she had ever gone over to Noelle's house was the day she had the misfortune of meeting the girl's mother, Carol. Susie hates Carol. Their first interaction was far from cordial and it was almost enough to keep her from going back, but a certain deer (and, if she was being honest, her own desires) had her look the other way.
Anyway—Noelle, as Susie had once described, was "the greatest girlfriend of all-time ever," and only ever invited Susie over when Carol was out. Of course, inviting Susie also meant inviting Kris, so they always tagged along. It did make things a bit awkward when Susie had to practically fly out the window when Carol would come home earlier than anticipated but whatever.
To make a long story short, despite Noelle's flimsy excuse Susie really had no reason to decline her invite and was already thinking about asking Kris if they wanted to come, but then Susie had received a follow-up text that had her claws twitching above the keyboard.
[Noelle: Hey, do you mind if it could just be us this time?]
[Noelle: Yk, without Kris?]
The dreaded secret third thing—Susie had never been to Noelle's house alone, she always had gone with Kris, and the prospect of going alone made her shit enough bricks to build a bank to store the rest. What difference would it really make, though? After all, Noelle was her girlfriend, and they ought to spend some time alone together, right?
[Susie: sure, i dont see why not]
As it would turn out, it made a pretty big fucking difference.
