“i can reject, right?”
minho’s heart sank.
jeongin was staring at the staff behind the surplus of cameras and microphones as they nodded. he turned his gaze back to the boy in front of him, who’s smile was beginning to fade. he kept his arm outstretched with hopes that perhaps the blond was just fucking with him, that maybe he’d change his mind.
“will you be my soulmate?” minho repeats himself, trying his best to keep his voice steady.
“no,” jeongin answers, swatting his hand slightly. he falls out into a fit of giggles as he shuffles his way back to felix and seungmin, leaving minho dumbfounded in front of the petals in the heart formation.

“hyung,” jeongin’s voice comes in through the door, making minho grunt in response. he was on the floor watching recordings from the last few dance practices they had, staring himself down through his computer screen. “can i come in?” jeongin tries again, earning a flat ‘sure’ from minho. the door creaks as he pokes his head in. minho pauses his laptop and looks up with a slight tilt of his head.
“yeah?”
jeongin looks like a deer in headlights.
“i wanted to apologize. for this afternoon.” minho furrowed his brows.
“what?”
“for flat out rejecting you.” minho shrugs as his gaze flits back to his computer screen.
“no biggie.”
“i lied.”
minho’s head snapped up with wide eyes. jeongin’s vision was trained on the ground, yet the older could see just how red his ears were. “i lied bad, hyung. you did good, you know. with all those stupid words.” minho raised an eyebrow with a small smile dancing on his lips. “and, like, i panicked, i guess. i didn’t mean to hurt your feelings or anything, i swear i-“
“i’ll ask you again, then, innie,” minho interrupts, scooting his laptop over to the side. “will you be my soulmate?”
jeongin blinked a few times before a wide smile broke out on his face.
“surely.”
