   Summary

   Carmy’s heart fell, and his ears began to ring. Not only was Syd leaving the restaurant,..and leaving him, she was leaving for the place that took his sanity. Carmy had other problems before Empire and before Chef Fields, he knew that, and losing Mikey obviously didn’t help. But clocking into work day in and day out for a guy who hurled insults and destroyed his self-confidence, it broke him. Chef Fields took all the joy and the inspiration out of cooking.

   And Syd was one of the most brilliant chefs he’d ever met, he couldn’t let him break her. His former boss had already taken so much from him he wouldn’t let him take Syd too.
