It was a hot summer day, so hot you could see the heat coming off the sea…
Most of the gang was sitting down near the lagoon, swimming and relaxing. Everyone but Hiccup- or that’s what he thought. He was sitting in his hut, working on a new plan for his sword, inferno. He had been cooped up in there for the past three consecutive days, not including his morning and afternoon rides on Toothless- who was sleeping next to his desk. The auburn haired boy was so buried in his work he didn’t even hear tuffnut come in or say his name- how ever many times he did.
“Hiccy!”
The twin yelled attempting to get his attention once again.
“Hm? Oh hey Tuff-“ he saw the fact the boy was holding two bowls. Both filled with some weird white paste “what’s that you have?”
“We haven’t thought about what to call it yet- but just try it! It’s so exquisite…delectable even!”
the boy gently put a bowl in front of hiccup, making sure it wasn’t on any of his papers.
Hiccup was a little scared to try it, considering the last thing the twins tried to make was cooked cod that was way too salty…. But that wasn’t gonna stop him from trying this, there’s no way it could be as bad as Astrid’s yaknog, right? He reluctantly picked up his spoon and took a scoop of the frozen paste before taking a bite.
His eyes lit up, taking all the flavors…it had an apple-ly taste but it was sweet and creamy almost. He looked over to Tuffnut with stars in his eyes.
“How did you make this?” He desired to know how Tuffnut, who wasn’t…always the best at cooking could make a dish this delicious!
The blonde swallowed the spoonful he had in his mouth before answering “Ruff and I found some apples on a nearby island awhile ago and today we had an amazing idea- mostly mine- what if we made them into a nice, sugary, frozen dish!“
Sugary? Where did the twins find sugar? That was a luxury item! How did they have enough money to buy it?
“Sugar? Where did you guys find enough gold to buy sugar? And how much sugar did you buy?”
“Hiccup, my dear hiccup.” He put a hand on his boyfriend’s shoulder “You really think we’d pay? Also there’s sugarcane on the other side of the edge.” He shrugged
his eyes widened “There’s sugar and you didn’t bother to tell us? We could’ve gotten Berk back some gold!”
“Yeah but Snotlout would’ve took advantage of it. Remember the changewing eggs?”
“….fair.“ he took another bite, a soft moan of content escaping his throat “gods this is good. Is Ruff showing the others whatever this is?”
Tuff nodded, finishing the rest of the paste.
“See I’m thinking maybe a name like sorbet or something. Kinda like the word šariba, the frozen drink.”
“Sorbet?.. I like it”
