Summary
Alastor meets a young and up and coming man who works at the television network near him. Since they night they met Vincent won't leave him alone and keeps "annoyingly" doting on him since the night they met. Alastor sees this as pathetic and disgusting and gets annoyed at all the grand displays of affection, but after a certain gift he is gifted, he starts to feel a sense of fascination he's never felt before.

His fingers tremble, and he can feel the cold hilt of the sword, pushing in, in, twisting, until Scott gasped all wet and raspy and blood dripped off of both their fingers.
The thoughts are rushing through him, shot through with dread. Negative thoughts are the nogistune’s speciality, and he can’t help but wonder if that’s why he was picked. His stupid, anxious brain. Every repressed, bitter fear he’s had in his life has been laid bare over the last few weeks, like the nemeton has reached in and clawed away every bit of protective armor around his heart. He hardly ever allows himself to wish things could go back to the way they were, but he does now.

So, when Reki turned seventeen and still hadn’t had that moment of secondary gender awakening he shrugged and accepted that he was a beta. He wasn’t surprised: he was terrible at smelling the scents of others. If his nose did happen to catch a whiff, it would materialize as a quick mental image in his head. It was hard to explain. It was like he was seeing a picture summary of an individual’s vibe. His manager Oka understood, and he was a beta, which just further seemed to prove that Reki was one as well…. Right?
