“Can I hang out with you today?” Vox asked quietly as Husk started to make his way to the bathroom. He turned to glance over his shoulder, surprised that Vox had asked and not just informed Husk that they would be spending the day together. He nodded – he would clear his calendar if Vox wanted his attention for the day.
“Yeah, sure. I can make a few calls and free things up.” Vox sat up and swung his legs over the side of the bed, head cocked as he studied Husk. “Why? Alastor leave you in the lurch or something?”
“No.” They stared at one another and Husk raised an eyebrow, earning a sheepish little shrug from the younger demon. “I mean, yes, he did, but that’s not why I wanted to spend the day with you. I could just hang out with Niffty or something.”
“Yeah, good luck with that.” Really, truly. Good fucking luck with that.
