She’s half way down the stone path when he remembers, “hey Iris?”
She pivots, walking backwards on her heel. “Rainy days or clear skies?” From the distance he can just make out her brow crease in confusion, the dim lights highlight her brown skin from the shadows.
“What?”
Barry shrugs, lifting the strap of his book bag to his shoulder. “You said I could ask you anything. So, do you prefer rainy days or clear blue skies?”
He waits a beat and her confusion morphs into a look of ponder.
“I’ve always wanted to be kissed in the rain.”
