Work Text:
You find yourself standing in front of your apartment door, messy hair with water dripping from it, your bag and clothes soaked. It rained obviously, you didn't bring an umbrella. Of course that would happen on a long day.
You searched for your keys, cursing under your breath when it fell out of your damp hands. The sound of your apartment door opening caught you off guard while you picking up your keys. Oh, yeah… Someone lives in your apartment with you. Your eyes lifted up, the corner of your lips curved up into a smirk.
"Thanks, you moldy bread." You managed to mutter out as you got back up. A raspy exhale came from the rotting animatronic in front of you, Springtrap. He always hated your way with words. You held out your hand, keys resting on your palm- you wanted Springtrap to take it for you, but he didn't take it. His eyes just bore into yours with annoyance. "Take it." You insisted, keeping eye contact with the rotting animatronic. "Take it yourself." Springtrap huffed with arrogance as he walked over to the living room, leaving you to stand outside.
You let out an exhausted sigh, entering your apartment and throwing your bag on the ground- it landed with a loud thud that startled you and Springtrap, he let out a growl, turning his head back to ghe TV, he sat on the couch; probably watching a true crime documentary.
You made your way to the bathroom, Springtrap tried to say something but you waved your hand dismissively “I want to shower first.” You could hear him mumble afterwards. Locking the door behind you once you got into the bathroom, undressing before stepping into the shower.
Having a former killer in your home is terrifying but he promised he won't kill you and he's lived up with that promise for months now. Plus, Springtrap is great company- Or that you’re just extremely lonely.
You stepped out of the shower with a towel wrapped around you, you totally forgot to get your clothes but it's fine your room is across the bathroom. You went into your room and wore the only fresh white shirt and plaid pants. Casual sleeping attire you suppose.
Walking over to the couch, you laid down with your legs on Springtrap's thighs- that was very painful to do. His attention turned to you immediately, he poked at your legs with annoyance. The two of grumbled as he kept poking and you tried to swatting his hands away.
"Go to sleep in your room." he bickered, pushing himself off the couch, arms already wrapped around; picking you up off the couch with him. You tried to get free from him but you were too exhausted, just accepting it after. You were yawning before Springtrap purposely dropped you on your bed. Luckily your bed was soft, but your head hurt from the bounce. "Why do you even bother making me sleep." You groaned- before you knew it, he was tucking you in bed, lying beside you. “You’re tired that’s why.” You scoffed with a smug expression “out of all people, you care about me. C’mon I thought a killer like you would know better.”
Springtrap turned to face you, you could never read his face and maybe that was for the better. Suddenly, his arms wrapped around your body, to pull you close. "Springtrap?" You whispered, confused since he never acted this way before. This honestly made you uncomfortable, though… something about how he was treating you made you warm up to it. He whispered hesitantly "I love you." You were shocked- he was living with you for a year and this is what shocks you the most. The silence stuck for a while, he made himself comfortable by nuzzling his snout on the crook of your neck, your eyes gazed him intently- You chuckled, followed by a sigh and you reciprocated the embraced, wrapping your arms around him too. "I love you too, I guess…"
Springtrap cleared his throat, you could feel that he was holding back a laugh "You forgot to turn of your iron this morning. Now, the board is burnt." Your jaw went agape, pulling on his only good ear as you rambled "YOU ASSHOLE, WHY'D YOU TELL NOW?!" Springtrap burst out laughing, his head threw back but you kept your grasp on his ear. You groaned as he started to beg for you to let his ear go, letting it go after he threatened.
“In my defense, you dismissed me earlier.”
”Shut up. Let’s just sleep, I’m tired.”
