There's an ongoing trend on TikTok about couples bombarding their partners with random dares and as their partner continues to do them, the person filming the video will suddenly ask their partner to kiss them. Nagi, who was scrolling on the app due to wanting to do something besides playing games on his phone, sees this and immediately thinks that he should do this with the person who will most likely get fooled and get flustered upon hearing the dare—Reo.
Everyone (even Nagi) knows that Reo has a soft spot for Nagi, from going to Nagi's apartment just to pick him up to go to school and bringing him home after classes to buying all the things he needs for soccer to even massaging his back after soccer practice, Reo would do anything that Nagi asks him to do just so they could play soccer together. Knowing this, Nagi's sure that he'll be able to successfully trick Reo.
Soccer practice ends and Nagi immediately lays down on the field, exhausted from all the drills he and Reo did earlier. Seeing Nagi laying his whole back on the field looking comfortable without moving a muscle, Reo scolds him.
“Oi Nagi, the dirt is gonna get stuck on your clothes if you continue to lay on the grass.”
“Whatever… laying here is the best thing in the world right now.”
After seeing that his scolding was of no use, Reo sighs. “Come on Nagi, it's time for us to head to the locker room to change clothes.”
Reo reaches his hand out for Nagi to grab when standing up and as Reo had expected, Nagi takes it while saying a sluggish “M’kay” in response.
They both enter the locker room without uttering a single word, quietly enjoying each other's presence. Opening their lockers to get their clothes, none of them still had said a word.
“Now's probably the best time to do that” Nagi thinks, trying to find a way to break the awkward silence.
“Hey Reo, wanna play a game?”
“A game? Uh… sure.”
Knowing that Reo is keen on observing things, Nagi decides to change the plan of how the trick will go.
“Oh before that, can you give me some water?”
“Sure.” Reo gives Nagi his water bottle. Nagi takes a quick sip from it and gives it back tomorrow, saying “Thanks.” once Reo held the water bottle.
“Reo, do you have an extra towel?”
“Yep, here you go.”
“I ran out of shampoo. Reo, can you give me some of yours?”
“Sure.”
“I also don't have soap. Reo, can you give me another one?”
“Okay, here.”
“Reo, can you kiss me?”
“Of course—WAIT WHAT?!!???!???”
Nagi couldn't help but let out a small laugh after seeing Reo's reaction. Looks like he was right about Reo getting flustered. As expected of someone who has been with Reo almost 24/7 and has known almost everything about him even if they've only been friends for a few months.
“Nagi, you're joking right? I didn't mishear that at all, right?”
“You heard it loud and clear, Reo. It's just kissing a homie.”
“A-a homie…???? S-still… there's no way I would—”
“You said you would, though.” Nagi stops Reo from completing his sentence, leaving the latter to just mumble his words and cover his face with his hands.
“Anyways,” Nagi points his finger at himself, directing Reo on who he should kiss while showing a small mischievous grin, “kiss.”
“Okay okay, fine…”
Ultimately, Reo stops fighting the inevitable ‘doom’ and gives in to Nagi's request. Before Reo could kiss Nagi, he silently looked at Nagi (who's still grinning), mentally preparing himself for what he is about to do.
“It's just kissing a friend, Reo. Calm down.” Reo tries to reason with himself to stop getting flustered from the idea of kissing Nagi but each attempt only makes his embarrassment worse.
With no other choice, Reo closes his eyes and leans in.
“...!”
Nagi, who was celebrating for his trick going all according to plan, is suddenly caught off guard by Reo's kiss… to the lips?!?
Shocked by the unsuspecting outcome, Nagi slightly shifts backward to catch his balance and immediately turns into a bright red tomato. Nagi wasn't expecting Reo to go straight for the lips at all.
Not knowing what to do, the two of them stand still, not moving a muscle and still kissing. Each of them trying to process what the hell is going on between them with Reo going insane about how he's actually kissing Nagi and with Nagi going insane about why out of all places, is Reo kissing him on the lips.
As the kiss continues, Nagi and Reo gradually get used to the feeling of each other's lips on theirs. Nagi compliments how Reo's lips are soft and Reo comments how Nagi is actually using the lip balm he gave him a few days ago (because his lips were dry) from the smoothness of his—
Wait. Hold on. Why the hell are they getting comfortable with each other's lips?
Realizing that the time for them to stop kissing before it no longer counts as a homie kiss had been long overdue, Reo steps away from Nagi, immediately looking away and covering his mouth with his hand.
“S-sorry…” Reo mutters with his last remaining dignity.
Still shocked from what happened, Nagi covers his mouth with both of his hands after finally registering everything that had happened. “Pervert.”
“HUH?????? WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?!? YOU SAID THAT I HAVE TO KISS YOU—”
“I didn't say that it had to be on the lips!”
Upon hearing Nagi's response, Reo stops moving, his face turning even redder than before. In Reo’s head, everything is in chaos.
With a small speck of dignity left, Reo immediately grabs his things and heads to the shower before something worse happens.
“I-I’m gonna head to the shower first… Uh… See you.”
Not having anything to say, Nagi quietly nods as Reo passes by him.
With the two separated, the silence taunts the both of them by making their heads replay the embarrassing moment they had just gone through, regretting of ever doing it.
But did they like it?
Hell yeah they did.
