   Summary

   I begin ripping the muttation leeches off of me, tearing out chunks of myself with them. The veins surrounding the open gashes turn black. Blood runs freely from my body, pooling at my feet.
   A lofty voice echoes throughout the halls, “Ladies and Gentlemen, the winner of the 72nd Hunger Games: Mania Markhum of District 2!” The cheers of the Capitol overwhelm the area, bouncing and rebounding off every wall. My vision begins to spot, and a smile grows across my face.
   I rip off the final leech, crushing it with my black boots, and pound my fist into the sky. The crowd grows even louder, but their celebrations are drowned by the sound of my own laughter.
   I have done what I was sent here to do. And now, I may rest.
