Work Text:

Gojo sleepily opened his eyes, his alarm clock ringing. Geto rolled over, wrapping his right arm around Gojo, turning the alarm off. Their door burst open, Yuuji was grinning, towing nobara and Megumi, he beloved boyfriend, behind him.

“Sensei! And sensei! It’s our graduation day!” He said excitedly, bouncing onto the bed, making Gojo grunt in surprise at the feeling of his ribs being crushed by someone other than Geto.

“Ever learned the art of knocking?” Geto asked, giving Yuuji a halfhearted glare from the security of the sheets, yawning as he sat up, rubbing the sleep from his purple eyes.

Gojo sat up as well, grabbing his teachers uniform as their students left the room, talking excitedly among themselves. Gojo chuckled slightly, remembering his own graduation day. The colors had been…amazing. Shoko had been smoking, as usual, the fireworks ringing all around them in the night sky as he kissed Geto, giving it other worldly beauty. Students had been running around the field, waving their papers, friends and family having picnics under the darkening sky. A tap on his shoulder brought him back to the current world, with a much needed kiss from Geto. Geto chuckled, his hands finding the top of Gojos neck, his thumb brushing Gojos cheekbone, smiling as he kissed his white haired lover. He pulled away, pressing another kiss to Gojos nose, much to his protest, getting dressed in his own uniform.

“Theyre gonna become great sorcerers, satarou” he remarked, laying back on the bed, he legs dangling onto the floor. “Better than us, I dare say”

Gojo smiled, coming up behind him and putting his hair up in his signature bun. “Yeah? You just might be right, if I dare say so myself. For once in a million years, your right, suguru” he chuckled, avoiding a pillow to the head, tickling his lovers side, making him laugh loudly.

“Turn this up!” Nobara said, bopping her head to the song playing as Yuuji shared an ice cream with Megumi, their graduation uniforms covered thanks to Gojos snacking ponchos he kept in the back of the car. The car winded down the streets of Japan, coming up on the jujutsu school. Several families were waiting, one or two kids in uniform gowns per family milling around, greeting eachother. They were from different schools, and yuuji sprinted out of the car before it was even fully stopped, quickly taking the poncho off and throwing it in the back. Megumi came up behind him, wiping his face off with a napkin, chuckling at his boyfriend’s stupidity, a smile on his face as Yuuji kissed his cheek. Nobara rolled her eyes, sighing.

“I’m surrounded by gay people” she said, groaning as Megumi slapped her lightly over the head. She turned around, slapping him about 30 times before he relented and apologized.

A bell sounded, and the students swarmed up the stairs, excited as they cheered, their families following close behind. At the top, their teachers waited, proudly dressed in their schools colors, holding a bouquet of violets for each student. The trio took pictures together, or solo, and with the entire group (thank you Masamichi). As they wandered around the school, reliving old memories, getting sodas from the vending machines that should have been replaced when Gojo and Geto were in school, it was finally time. The two teachers took their place on the stage, proudly looking at their three students who felt like their own kids. Nanami sat as close to them as he could, protective as always of the three chaos gremlins. The principal got up, giving his speech on the stage.

“And so now, as our years together becoming a family of sorcerers who will always be powerful in numbers comes to a new chapter, we welcome all of our latest additions onto the stage” he said, sweeping his arms to gesture to all the kids as they stepped up, the sky a wash of soft orange, lilac purple and cherry blossom pink, blues following the sun as it bids goodbye behind the trees. First comes Nobara, hugging each of her teachers. Next was Yuuji, who looked so nervous Gojo actually worried if he was going to pass out. Next, Megumi, who confidently shook hands with his teachers, but was hugged tightly by Gojo and Geto together, earning a few ‘awwws’ from the crowd. Megumi stood still, before remembering that he could hug his dad’s back. He rested his chin on Getos shoulder, smiling.

“I love you guys” he whispered, before pulling away and walking off, fixing his hat as he did.

As the party ended, everyone went to the field, laying out blankets. Yuta and maki cuddled together on a small blanket, Gojo making kissy faces behind their backs before Geto pulled him onto their own blanket, wrapping an arm around him as they turned their gaze to the sky. It was dark, stars forming a dusty trail in the sky of solar systems. Gojo marveled in this moment, feeling the coolness of the night air, the warmth of his beloved Geto at his side, his…what should he call them now? They weren’t his students after all. The chatter of his family around him. He caught sight of Megumi snuggled against Yuuji, accepting a few feather light kisses on his cheekbone. The moment was so pure, and the fireworks sprung into the air. Different displays, blue, purple, flashing white and colorful greens. The last one left his eyes dazzled, a red spider lily. It was strange, putting a picture of death on such a lively day. He blinked, and blinked again, the red clouding his vision. Something warm, and wet leaked down his cheek, was he drooling? He moved to wipe it away with his hand but it wouldn’t move. The warmth of Geto was gone, and pain was all he felt. He stared at the sky, blood dripping from where his legs should be. Sukuna, no, not Sukuna, Sukuna controlling Megumis body stepped into view, a sad look of triumph on his face.

“You were magnificent, satarou Gojo. I’ll never forget you as long as I live” He had said, his voice tainting Megumis. What he would give for that memory that was not his own but some other, happier version of his to have happened in this realm he was in. His vision flickered, and all his friends whom he had lost, standing before him. Nanami, Geto, standing before him with a smile.he felt young again, happy. The happy that never went away. Geto extended an arm to him, the arm Gojo had taken, and Gojo took it, pulling Geto into a hug as he stood, his friends crowding around him.

“Welcome home, satarou” Geto said fondly, extending his arm to the vast world of the afterlife. “You don’t need to worry about anything, anymore”.
