Work Text:
It was a stupid thing.
You and Jason were reading, it was supposed to be a relaxing evening, with the both of you reading through Jason's personal library (one that you've personally helped build, and added your own collection to it as well). Going through the classics, and a few newer books as well, you'd notice a trend you see in these new romance books.
Aside from your usual 'his gaze softened', 'she let out a breath she didn't know she was holding', 'he growled'—This one was a new cliche, the more you read about it the more you thought about how familiar it was. It was like a written equivalent to the Shoujo Manga's Kabedon, nothing truly new but then again, what is new under the sun?
Either way, you were intrigued but set it aside in the corner of your brain as you kept reading. But the more you read, the more distracted you'd become, because all you could think about is your damn boyfriend.
He can feel you stare at him, without looking up from his book he grunts softly, "What is it?" he asked, knowing full well you've concocted something in your pretty head whenever you stare at him for that long.

somehow, somehow you've convinced him to do it with you. So you're both setting the scene, with your back pressed against the doorframe and Jason looming over, you'd be intimidated if his expression wasn't the softest thing you'd ever seen, the lines of his scowl had softened with the look of amusement, his lips tugged into a soft smile and you can't help but notice how his scar stretches when he smiles, giving him a slight fanged look. It's so distractingly cute.
Sudden warmth jolts you from your thoughts, and belatedly you realise that his free hand had moved to cup your cheeks.
"Still with me?" He asked, voice soft and low. You nodded, trying to get yourself focused on the task once more despite the very big distraction infront of you. your efforts makes Jason break out into a grin again as he nodded along, waiting for your cue or an opening to do the scene you'd set up.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm ready," You muttered softly, though you're feeling anything but. And it's even more evident by the way your eyes widened as Jason slowly closes the distance, his breath tickling your warm cheeks, his lips part to say the words you'd ask—but before he could, you burst into nervous cackling, you've reached your limit.
"I can't do it, I can't do it—" You repeat inbetween your cackling, he's too damn effortlessly charming for his own good and you can't handle your swooning, your body fighting for its life to stay upright or even remain in a solid state when all you feel like is melted puddle.
Jason's hand was still gently cradling your jaw even as you slid down squawking and cackling incoherently, your brain absolutely malfunctioning in between your swooning, he was still making sure you were alright, which only added onto your brain melt, what a damn gentlemen.
He watched you for a moment as you kept cackling and squeaking, hiding your face behind your hands before he had to look away, his broad shoulders shaking with the force of his own silent laugh.
All the while, you stayed on the floor, breathlessly laughing as you crawled away from your far too handsome for real life boyfriend. You've decided then and there that you definitely cannot handle these damn techniques in real life.
