Chapter Text
Till,
I don't know how easily this will get to you, so I'll keep it short: I made it out.
Did you remember to cover our tracks when you went back? I hope you did, you know you have a habit of attracting too much of their attention already.
How much did it surprise you, that I kept running this time when you pulled your hand from mine? I surprised myself, if I’m honest—I really expected it would all end the same way it did the first time.
Do you remember that first time, running together under the red flare of the meteors? I couldn’t help but smile when you turned back. In fact, I’m smiling now, and for the same reason.
I read an old quote today, ‘ the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results ’. Was I insane, trying to run away with you again after the first failure? Do you think it makes me more or less insane that the result was actually different this time—but only for me?
I think you'd like it here.
Ivan
