Summary: It took three days of searching, but Serena's feet found what Yuri was looking for.
It was too hot outside today. Too steamy.
"The flower is white. Do you want to see the picture again?" Yuri demanded.
"No, thank you," Serena murmured.
"Well, maybe ghost orchids just don't grow here."
"They do," Yuri hissed. "I just know it."
The pair was still on the hunt for the rare ghost orchid. Hunting flowers, particularly orchids, was a kind of obsession for Yuri.
Sometimes, Serena really wondered about his psychology.
Serena didn't mind hunting even though always felt bad about hunting people. Sometimes the weaker duelists couldn't help being weak. Should they be destroyed for that?
In opposition, Yuri was an exemplary hunter and would hunt anyone or anything. Including defenseless and pretty flowers.
But, in her mind, orchid hunting was just stupid.
It was actually the third day of this...malarkey.
"And remember, the habits of orchid isn't to grow in direct sunlight. They usually prefer partial shade. So, check under trees."
Serena sighed in frustration. "Got it."
She suddenly strode ahead under some trees off the main path. Maybe under some trees, she could escape Yuri.
Unfortunately, he was right behind her.
"Stop, Serena!" he ordered. "You stepped on it."
What?
She quickly retracted her foot and looked. There was a small white flower that was shaped a bit like a frog. In the depths of its petals, she glimpsed what looked a like a malformed face.
"It's here? I found it?"
"Well, mostly, you stepped on it."
Serena bent down so that she could look at it closer.
"It's...weird looking. What are you going to do with it?"
Serena guessed that Yuri probably wasn't going to pick it and keep it in a vase. That would be too normal.
"I'm going to dig it up because I want to keep the roots that I can grow it for myself."
He grinned at her.
"Oh, and I brought a shovel and, I had to drag it around with me all this time, so would you mind digging a hole?"
Oh, yes. Serena definitely hated ghost orchid hunting. She was sure that Yuri knew it
So, Serena picked up the heavy shovel and began to dig.
Actually, he should be buying her flowers.
A/N: Yes, ghost orchids exist and they are the rarest orchid in the world. Only around 1500 of them exist.
