"Oscar, what are your thoughts regarding the crash between you and Lando - do you think it was a reckless move, or any other thoughts you may have regarding it?"
Oscar took the microphone, keeping his expression blank as the cameras zoomed in on him,
"Uh.. well, of course the crash was unfortunate and has lost the team points, but that isn't really the point. Being teammates, it's necessary for us to get along, and Lando has already apologised for it. I don't really have anything else to say. It was just unfortunate, there's no reason to point fingers when it's already resolved."
The reporter pushed on, "So are you saying neither driver is at fault for the crash?"
Oscar briefly glanced at Lando, the Brit immediately turning his head.
"I've said there's no point in blaming people when the 'situation' was resolved immediately after it happened. End of."
"Alright, and, Lando. As Oscar's said, you apologised on the McLaren Team Radio and have taken responsibility for the crash, have these thoughts changed at all?"
Lando sighed before answering, "Well, I've already said that the crash was my fault solely, and I've apologised to Oscar and McLaren as a whole for it. I made a mistake, the team has been incredibly supportive the whole weekend, and I won't make it again. That's all, no hard feelings when it was my own manoeuvre that caused the crash in the first place."
The rest of the conference consisted of Oscar glancing at Lando continuously, the Brit always averting his gaze, and both drivers frowning each time the crash would be brought up.
Oscar opened Lando's door to find the Brit sat on the edge of his bed, deep in thought. He walked further into the room, stopping just in front of teammate who still hadn't registered his presence.
"Are you okay, Lan?" Lando's heart practically jumped at how soft his tone was, almost frustrated that he couldn't find any anger, or disappointment in Oscar's words.
Lando looked up at him, frowning, "Are you angry at all?"
The Aussie raised an eyebrow, his tone changing to concern. God Lando hated how he could make him feel guilty without even speaking- "No? Why?"
"Well, I nearly ruined your race- ruined mine. You're not even angry? I could've fucked your weekend up by being, well, reckless as the Media put it."
Oscar took a tentative step forward, "Why would I be? You're my teammate - friend, and you didn't fuck my race up. I have no reason to be mad at you."
"Still sorry. I nearly did, Osc."
"Hey," He reached out to tilt the Brit's chin up, looking into his eyes as if reassuring him, "But you didn't. The ifs don't matter, you didn't ruin anything, Lan."
Oscar continued, wrapping his arms around Lando in a hug.
"I don't care how the media might try and spin this. I don't care if they try and say you're incompetent, or that I hate you or anything else, Lando, ok?"
He paused before finishing,
"They could never make me hate you, Lan."
