Chapter Text
Min-su sat in his dorm, earbuds in, eyes on his phone. He was mindlessly watching YouTube, kind of procrastinating, doing everything except working on his recent project that he and Yong-sik agreed to start up on sometime today.
He was thinking about something completely unrelated. An old notification on his phone pinged, reminding him of the message. It was from Gyeong-su, a mutual friend of his that he met through someone else.
> Hey, Min-su! We’ve got a party going on tonight. I’ll send the location if you wanna come!
Delivered at 1:03 PM.
It’s 7:26 PM now.
What nobody knows, or seemingly doesn’t care for, is that it’s Min-su’s birthday. He’s 21 today. Nothing particularly special, just another day of living. He hasn’t even properly celebrated.
The YouTube video played, something about a video game that he’s been keeping up with. On his birthday, he’d rather sit in his dorm alone rather than going out and having some sort of fun.
And he has no problem with that—
—another notification dinged.
This time it’s from Thanos, who’s saved in Min-su’s phone as Su-bong.
> my boy Min-su! Where r u at bro? The party is abt to start! It’s ur bday right? come hang out with us!
Jesus, his grammar is terrible. That was the initial thought that came from Min-su as he tried to decipher whatever the hell it was that Su-bong sent him.
He wants him at the party?
And he remembered that today’s his birthday. As weird as Thanos is, guy’s heart is kinda in the right place. He remembers everyone’s birthdays so easily. Even when he gets Nam-gyu’s name wrong, he’ll always remember the day he was born.
Min-su sighed, pulling one earbud out of his ear, thinking. Should I?
His eyes trailed up to the door of his dorm room.
His roommate, Lee Myung-gi, isn’t there. He’s probably out sulking over losing his girlfriend. He’s also the only other person to remember Min-su’s birthday.
The video continued playing in his right ear, the left earbud now lying beside him. He thought for a second longer—why would he go…?
He doesn’t really know anybody there, probably. Most likely he’d stand around getting pushed by a bunch of people dancing in an erotic fashion, or people blowing smoke into his face purposely.
Yeah, no. Min-su put his earbud back into his ear, eyes lingering on the message sent by Thanos for a second longer than he would’ve liked to.
No. I’m not going to that party.
•••
Min-su stepped inside of the frat house, the odor of alcohol and weed not even trying to hide inside of the room.
He coughed, fanning the air in front of his face. Why the fuck did I come here…?
Right before he could turn around and assess the smarter options, he heard the familiar voice boom behind him.
“Min-su, my boyyyy!” Slurred Choi Su-bong.
His weight dropped down over Min-su’s shoulders, getting him into a loose headlock. “I’m so happy to see you, bro! Happy birthday…”
“T-Thanks, Su-bong.”
Thanos sighed, alcohol on his breath. Min-su could smell it. It was potent. “Dude, call me Thanos! And c-come on…” he hiccuped trying to formulate each sentence. “…Gyeong-su is in the b-back…”
The music hit hard, the bass rocking Min-su’s ears. It damn near hurt just listening to it, more so due to it being Thanos’ songs playing. It is his frat party.
Thanos pushed through a crowd of guys chugging down beers—the chanting ‘chug’ making Min-su sick to his own stomach. He’s drank beer before, only a sip. He threw up.
Literally the smell alone almost made him puke.
“I’m back, my friends…!”
Thanos hiccuped, stumbling into the room with a few more people inside. There’s some that Min-su’s seen, and others that he didn’t even know he existed.
On the couch sat Nam-gyu, his head resting on his hand on the arm of the couch. He puffed a plume of smoke out of his mouth, blinking slowly. Beside him was Gyeong-su, head tilted up towards the ceiling.
Behind them were a flight of stairs that led to the second floor.
The room itself didn’t smell too bad. It was being masked by some type of purifier, mixing into the scent.
The eyes in the room fell upon Min-su.
Nam-gyu silently groaned. “Really, this loser?”
“Hey, Min-su…” mumbled Jun-hee, twirling her vape pen between her fingers.
She sat on a rocking chair, slowly moving back and forth. In the second rocking chair across from her was Mi-na, a girl that Min-su isn’t particularly close with (due to her social status, they’re literally polar opposites) but knows through Thanos.
Min-su waved, slowly settling into the room, keeping himself by the door just in case he wanted to leave. People were coming in and out of this place—the cops could show up at any second.
“So…” Min-su was about to speak, wanting to ask what they were doing, but he didn’t get the chance to.
“Mmm, Su-bong, who’s your friend?”
Asked a voice from the staircase. It caught Min-su’s attention quickly. Standing halfway on the staircase, arm slung lazily over the safety railing, was a girl who looked to be around the same age as Min-su. She had a short haircut, and several piercings.
Dangling from her lips was a burning cigarette.
Thanos pointed at Min-su, smirking, “This is Min-su! He’s my boy!” Announced an excited Thanos, ruffling Min-su’s hair as he did so.
Min-su quickly fixed his hair, having to knock Thanos’ drunken hand away. The girl came down from the stairs—she’s taller than him. He has never seen this girl on campus before, which makes him wonder if she even attends their school.
She doesn’t really look like the college type. Nope, she looks like a punk rebel that’d rob somebody, or beat you up if you said the wrong thing.
“Min-su?” The girl rose a brow, “Min means gentle…and Su means beautiful.”
It can also mean outstanding…and excellent… is what Min-su wanted to say.
Nam-gyu snorted from the couch he sat on, “Min-su and beautiful should never be in the same sentence, Se-mi.”
So that’s her name.
Se-mi and Nam-gyu made eye contact. She scowled, jokingly, “I thought you were still on cloud nine, Nam-gyu.”
“I was until Min-su walked in.” He hissed.
Thanos held his hands up in defense, telling Nam-gyu to stop. He’s always had it out for Min-su for some reason unbeknownst to Min-su. Whatever it was he did, it must’ve rubbed Nam-gyu the wrong way permanently.
“Can we get back to playing, please?” Asked Gyeong-su, sitting up, reaching for a little baggy that sat on the round table.
Min-su didn’t need to ask to know what was inside that bag. This place is a drug dealer’s dream…I have to get out of here…! “Uh, I just remembered…” Min-su stammered, trying to think of a quick excuse. “It’s my birthday today…my m-mom wanted to—”
“It’s your birthday?” Mi-na smirked at that. “How old are you turning?
“21.”
“21? You look like a baby.” Mi-na gasped.
“Thanks?”
Thanos left Min-su’s side to sit down next to Gyeong-su, divulging into the substance in the bag as well. It was pills, several of them, all colored differently. Thanos took 2, eating both at the same time.
“Dude, you’re fucking crazy.” Said Gyeong-su with a laugh.
Now Min-su really, really regrets coming here.
Thanos swallowed the two pills down, sighing afterwards. “Alright. Let’s get back to it…who did we leave off on…?”
Jun-hee lifted a finger up, “Me. I said dare.”
Dare? They’re playing truth or dare.
Min-su leaned his back against the door, quietly trying to blend in as their little game started back up. They were more circled around one another, so maybe they’d just forget about his existence or something.
People are good at forgetting he’s there.
Thanos thought for a second, stroking his chin. “What should I have you do…?” He pondered to himself.
“Make out with Mi-na.” Came the sudden interjection of Nam-gyu’s voice.
Mi-na snorted, glancing between a surprised Jun-hee and a deadly serious Nam-gyu. “Why? Are you trying to get off to us kissing?”
Nam-gyu, completely unbothered, exhaled another puff of smoke from his lungs, blowing it in Min-su’s direction, but it couldn’t quite reach. “Maybe, maybe not.”
Mi-na rolled her eyes before gesturing for Jun-hee. “Come here.”
“Oohhh~” Thanos cheered on.
Jun-hee was slow to get out of her chair, but she did anyway. She passed Min-su, not looking at him. “H-How long do we have to kiss for?”
“Until I wanna stop.” Mi-na said before anyone could get a word out.
Jun-hee released a little ‘oh’, stopping in front of the seated girl, who patted her lap, inviting her to sit down. When she was too slow to do so herself, Mi-na pulled her down, not missing a beat. It ended up being her to initiate the kiss.
She pushed her lips against Jun-hee’s timid ones, not being afraid to slip her tongue into the girl’s mouth quickly.
Jun-hee let out a surprised moan, pulling her head back to break the kiss, but Mi-na didn’t let her.
“Damn, Mi-na~” Nam-gyu watched, clearly enjoying himself. “You might get the virgin hard if you keep going like that.” He pointed a finger at Min-su, receiving a little chuckle from Gyeong-su, but not Se-mi or Thanos.
Nam-gyu’s always picked on Min-su by calling him a virgin. It was one of those unavoidable insults that he just had to take every day without doing something in return. Even in the middle of class (when Nam-gyu would show up), he’d throw harsh notes like a damn middle schooler.
Min-su didn’t show it, but it really ate him up inside.
Mi-na pulled her lips away from Jun-hee’s, offering a sweet smile. “You can always come to my dorm later…if you want more...” And just like that, their moment of intimacy was over.
Jun-hee slipped off of Mi-na. Se-mi, who was laughing about the situation, gave Jun-hee a little pat on the back as she walked by, her stride still slow.
“I bet you Myung-gi never kissed her like that.”
It was Nam-gyu who said it. No matter what, he’ll stir up some drama.
“That’s none of your business.” Jun-hee replied, probably colder than she intended.
Nam-gyu only giggled like an idiot in return. He couldn’t take anything seriously, especially not when he’s high. To him, literally everything was a joke, even himself.
With Jun-hee’s turn over, the game moved on.
“Min-su,” the mention of his name made him jump a bit. They didn’t forget about him. “truth or dare?”
Expectedly, Min-su’s immediate response was truth. Unfortunately for him, even that would result in a weird outcome.
“Last person you’ve had sex with. Who was it?”
It almost felt like a diss instead of an actual question. Nam-gyu knows what he’s doing asking something like that. He only did it to see the boy mumble out something incoherent—fumbling over his words—trying to make a sentence.
“What’d you say?” Nam-gyu held his hand to his ear. “We couldn’t hear you.”
Se-mi sat back in her chair, curious.
“I haven’t…” Min-su awkwardly rubbed his shoulder, eyes down. “…had sex before.”
There it was. Nam-gyu didn’t hold back his laughter. He knew that, he just likes hearing Min-su say it.
“What? Really?” Mi-na hid her smile with her hand, not trying to be rude. “Like…ever…?”
Not once. He hasn’t even been close. No girl really finds him attractive enough. That’s the conclusion he drew in his mind. He didn’t really care about having sex with a girl, sometimes, just because it’s not that big of a deal. It isn’t a priority.
God, he sounds like such a loser.
“Come on, look at him.” Nam-gyu eyed Min-su up and down. “He looks like he’s 14. Little momma’s boy.”
Thanos frowned at Nam-gyu’s insults. Gyeong-su did too.
“Yo, Nam-su…”
“Nam-gyu.”
“…how about we keep playing the game?”
“Oh, yeah, sure.” Nam-gyu nods.
Thanos moved forward to Se-mi. “Se-mi? Truth or—?”
“Dare.” She answered before Thanos could even finish.
Min-su looked at her, bewildered. Whatever is about to happen, it can’t be good. Not for the sorry sucker that Thanos unleashes this girl on.
“Do you have your vape on you?”
“Duh.” Se-mi pulled the pen out of her pocket. It was fully charged. “Why?”
Thanos leaned forward in his seat, his words still slurred, just a little more understandable. “Shotgun it to Min-su.”
Shotgun? What the hell does that mean?
Min-su and Se-mi met one another’s gaze. She grinned, almost thinking that Thanos was joking, but he was dead serious, a goofy smirk plastered on his features.
“Shotgun him? Are you trying to get him killed or something?”
“No, I want my boy to have some fun on his birthday!” Thanos defended his action.
Min-su has no idea what is going on. He doesn’t know what shotgun means, but if it’s some freaky ass fetish, or kink, he’s out of here. The name just doesn’t sit right with him.
“Okay…” Se-mi got up, “…c’mere.”
No way. Nuh-uh.
Min-su didn’t respond. He nervously fiddled with his fingers, avoiding all possible eye contact with anyone in the room.
Se-mi could see just how terrified he was. Earlier he said he was 21. She’s still 20. She’s never seen someone older than her act so innocent. The boy’s still a virgin, it’s crazy.
She can’t say that she didn’t like his innocence, though. Maybe it’s a bad habit, but when she sees someone so new to that kind of stuff, she can’t help what she does next. She wants to break them—and bad.
“It’s okay.” Se-mi’s sweetly sick voice carried through the almost quiet room, the faint sound of music bumping in the next room over almost being able to distract Min-su from what was going on. “I won’t bite.”
“Not yet.” Gyeong-su snickered.
Min-su caught her gaze. She was serious about this. She stalked closer, slowly, acting like a wild animal hunting down something it knows is easy to kill. Min-su trembled slightly, not knowing if he should run or not.
“All I have to do is blow smoke in your mouth. It’ll take fifteen seconds at the most.” Se-mi said, stopping a few inches away from him, pressing her hand against the wall beside him. She used her other hand to guide his head by the chin, making him look at her.
“Is that okay?” On purpose, she found herself closing the distance without inhaling her vape first.
She did so to ensure that he got an adrenaline rush from feeling their lips brush together. Boys, shy or not, can’t resist a girl like her. Se-mi held the end of the vape up to her mouth.
They connected and she started to inhale.
Once she stopped, the vape slid back into her pocket. Now she had to act fast. Their lips weren’t too far—it’s almost too easy to kiss this boy.
But before she could seal the deal, Min-su moved his head away from her. Se-mi stopped and blew the smoke out from her mouth and nostrils. She was a little frustrated, but she supposes she can understand his fear.
He doesn’t even know her.
“I’m…I’m sorry…” Min-su opened the door, leaving the room.
Se-mi shook her head, a little disappointed. She really wanted to do that. Behind her, Mi-na giggled as if she just got done watching a comedy film. Thanos couldn’t help but find the situation entertaining, Gyeong-su and Nam-gyu too.
Thanos was quick to rub it in, “Did Se-mi just get rejected by Min-su?” He hollered, not minding his volume. Nam-gyu and Gyeong-su were dying as well.
Jun-hee wasn’t paying the group much attention, scrolling through something on her phone.
Se-mi was a little butthurt. Nobody’s ever turned her down. Really, nobody. Min-su, being a 21 year old virgin, you would think he’d leap at an opportunity to press his lips against another woman.
But no.
“I didn’t get rejected.” Huffed Se-mi, crossing her arms seriously. “He was just nervous. I could kiss him—hell—I could take his virginity if I wanted to.”
A challenge. It didn’t just stay in the air like she intended it to. Nam-gyu pulled a strand of hair away from his face, tucking it back behind his ear. “Did you just say you could get little Min-su to fuck you?”
“With him? I’d be the one doing the fucking.” Se-mi snorted.
“₩100,000 says you can’t do it.” Thanos threw down the gauntlet.
Se-mi lips curved at the sound of money. Oh, this was gonna get interesting. “100,000? If I can take his virginity in…say 2 months, you have to pay me ₩100,000.”
Thanos nodded, doubling down on his offer.
Mi-na rose a hand, upping the stakes. “Then I’ve got ₩500,000 on my girl, Se-mi.”
“Yeah, hell no. You aren’t taking the clothes off that little virgin. Uh, I’ll go ₩200,000.”
“Jun-hee? Gyeong-su? Anything to add?” Se-mi questioned.
Jun-hee shook her head. “I’m not betting on that. That’s gross—”
“—₩600,000.” Gyeong-su loudly interrupted.
There it was. The prize was set. If she could get Min-su in her bed, she’d be a couple of won richer.
And she doesn’t plan on losing.
