Chapter Text

"If this is the Honmoon that I'm supposed to protect...then I'm glad to see it destroyed."

Rumi's last words to Celine echoed in her mind. She saw Celine's face, that...cracked hopefulness that she had. She heard Celine's voice "We are hunters, voices strong. Our faults and fears must never be seen." She felt the warm touch as Celine draped her blanket on her, begging to cover her patterns, hide who she was again.

Rumi felt tears drop down her face, and her nails dug into her patterns, drawing blood.

Rumi's eyes shut tightly, the tears felt cold on her face even though it was warm. She felt the air rushing around her as she teleported, she couldn't stop, she just kept going, hiding, from her shame. She felt the blood trickling down her arm as her patterns pulsed.

Suddenly the wind stopped, as she opened her eyes, she slowly recognised where she was. It was the building she had ran to before the Golden performance. She blinked, her left eye felt like it was on fire, and she spotted her reflection in a puddle.

She stared at herself, her broken demon self, in the water. Her eye was golden, it had a cat-like pupil and pulsed slowly, like the dying embers of a flame. She saw her patterns, a furious deep purple, it looked like there was a storm trapped inside them, with black speckles swirling around in them. The blood she had drawn earlier was dried up and the wounds had already scabbed over.

Suddenly Jinu's face flashed in her mind, Rumi's throat closed up as she tried to muffle a sob,"Your a demon, just like me." Jinu's words spun around in her head, how could she be so stupid, she had let that demon in her life and let him poison her.

She looked around in a panic as she felt a voice in her ear, "How can you fix the Honmoon when you can't fix yourself?"

Her braid whipped around her as she tried to find the voice, suddenly she lost her footing. She felt her head throb as it hit the ground, her earring jabbing into her skull. Suddenly she felt a sense of dread wash over her, "You don't...hear him in your ear?" Jinu's question seemed to pose no weight when he asked it, a seemingly simple question that made no sense at the time.

"No!" She gasped, "Leave me ALONE!" She fell back after hearing her voice, the demonic command sent red ripples through the cracked Honmoon. "I can fix it. I can still FIX IT!" She sobbed, she was a demon, her voice alone was proof of that. She felt the dried tears thicken with new ones, her left hand had become clawed and purple. Her pattern's flashed an angry black as she cried. She couldn't fix it, she couldn't even fix herself.

She kept hearing Celine's voice, and her mind flashed back to the takedown performance, Mira's stare, Zoey's fear... They were scared of YOU, you did this to yourself. You made them hate you, you useless pathetic half-breed. Rumi sobbed even harder, they hated her, all of them and the worst of all...she agreed with them.

She didn't know how long she spend crying there, her sobs echoing through the broken Honmoon. She felt her self slowly going closer to the edge of the building.

She swore there were footsteps behind her, but she didn't care. She slowly stood up, her whole body shook with another sob as she stared over the edge of the building. The neon colours of signs and city lights would have been beautiful once, but now? They just looked like the perfect puzzle, one that Rumi was not a part of.

As she stepped onto the ledge she heard two familiar voices cry out, "RUMI!", her whole body snapped up, Mira and Zoey...?
