Dot couldn’t sleep. She twisted and turned in her bed as she tried to get in a position she felt somewhat comfortable in. It felt like an hour before she decided to look at her phone for the time.
12:15
It had only been 15 minutes.
Dot groaned in defeat and threw on her cardigan and walked out of the room. Maybe she could try and get her mind to admit defeat by walking around the airship. At least it was quiet this late at night. Her footsteps echoed throughout the empty hallways of the ship as she started thinking, not like there was much else to do at this hour. But seemingly every train of thought she went down somehow directed itself towards Liko.
She wanted to yell at the thoughts but she didn’t want to wake anyone. She subconsciously tried to push back the thoughts of that girl… her carefree smile, her free flowing hair, those sparkling eyes…
She failed miserably.
Dot didn’t know why any of it was happening, she had been fine a few days ago. But now her thoughts were cluttered and messy. Maybe they have just become louder now? The answer was unclear to her, Dot doubted it could ever be, but her wandering had led her above the Rumming engine of the Brave Asagai. The steady noise grounded Dot back from her thoughts. She should probably try going back to bed now.
Walking back to her room Dot started thinking again and started thinking about Liko again, she couldn’t really suppress the thoughts so she just let them swim around in her brain.
She wasn’t complaining anyways. Dot didn’t really know how to feel about the girl infesting her thoughts anymore.
Making her way through the hallway she eventually felt her muscles stop in front of one particular door, Likos.
She tried to get her brain to shut up, she’d be asleep by now, there wasn’t any reason why she would want to go in there, and yet there was a primal urge for her to go in.
Dot told herself it would just be a small pop in, just to satiate that part of her brain. The one reacting so heavily towards this girl.
Within the darkness Dot could barely see the outlines of the room. She could see Sprigatito sleeping at the base of the bed, she couldn’t see her other two pokemon though.
Dot slowly crept through the room and eventually went to sit on the bed. She was questioning why she was even here, that this whole idea was stupid. Why was she even in here? She should be trying to sleep in her own bed, not overthink things sitting on someone else's bed.
But when she tried to get up from the bed, she felt a pull back towards it and heard a small whimper, she turned around and saw… Liko? She was clutching onto her waist, she wasn’t awake, she had just kind of done it instinctively. Dot could hear Liko whispering to herself in her sleep.
“Please… stay.”
Dot sat back down and started trying to figure out what to do. Liko was holding onto her waist decently tight, she didn’t think she would be able to get away if she ever got the chance.
Then… Liko said something in her sleep again.
“I love you… Dottie.”
Dot tried very hard to not break out from laughing at the silly name, she felt her face heat up from embarrassment and holding back the laugh, a giggle broke out of the recluse but that was unfortunately enough for Liko to hear. Her eyes slowly opened as she processed what was happening in front of her.
There was a period of time where neither of them moved, which was quickly broken by Liko realizing what she was holding onto and letting go of Dot, backing away from the girl with her face flushed red with embarrassment.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t- why are you in my room?” Liko eventually stammered out.
“I uhm…” Dot did not have a good explanation for her being in Likos room, “I-I don’t know ok! I- I’ll just go…” The recluse started speed walking back towards the door before suddenly…
“Dot wait!”
She turned around to look at Liko, she could barely see her shimmering eyes in the darkness as she reached out to her. “You… can stay…” Liko said hesitantly before quickly stammering out “if you want to.”
Dot was already trying to ignore the thumping of her heart but she was worried that now even Liko would be able to hear it. She walked back towards the bed, Sprigatito giving the streamer a look with a single eye as she passed by the cat.
Sitting down where she was previously in a way that was somehow even more awkward than what had happened a few minutes ago, Dot stole a glance at Liko blushing at her before turning away, feeling the red creeping further and further onto her face.
Neither of them really knew what to do, they were both waiting for the other to make the first move. It ended up in about 5 minutes of them awkwardly sitting on the bed at the dead of night.
Right as Dot was about to muster up the courage to try talking about what was happening she felt a pull on her back as Liko dragged her to lay down, Dots head sitting on Likos lap.
The blushing was definitely visible now. Dot didn’t do anything to stop the situation and just kinda let it happen.
A few minutes later Liko began to pull herself back into the covers of the bed, Dot was trying to figure out what her next move was.
Before Liko wrapped her arms around Dots torso and pulled the girl towards her, also causing her to end up below the covers.
Liko snuggled deeper into Dot as she didn’t make any signs of protest. She wasn’t going to protest something she felt like she wanted.
As Dots eyelids felt heavy watching the girl she loved she had one last thought before drifting to sleep.
Dot wasn’t going to have any more problems sleeping now.
